If you could pick only ONE stat, no matter how advanced, to measure the performance of a player, which stat would that be?
(eye test, rangz, 6/6 are not stats btw and we all know a single stat can't possibly reflect a player's total ability, it's just a hypothetical question)

PER, BPM, PPG, RAPM, xRAPM, etc ?
Especially interested in stats people, maybe they can provide further insight into their stat of choice.

Actually it's possible, it's just not created yet.

ISO, offense and defense

PPP, TS etc for ISO plays on offense

on defense it would be opponents points per possession in ISO situations

obviously there would have to be a minimum quota of possesions

PER was literally made for this.

(PER * WS/48)/Career missed shots

I find this the most accurate formula

Given your specific question and criteria, I would say PER. It measures efficiency and impact on a per possession basis.

I'd have to go with PER, even though it doesn't really account for defense

Clutch stats of course. It has the best correlation between the stat and 2/6 or 2/7
