Notice how the show offs and big mouth people are the really insecure ones. When this guys busts out the league it will be hilarious.

That's only true if they don't win. But yea Russell needs to put his money where his mouth is now.

Let the kid be confident about it. Nothing wrong with that.

Nah, he's going about it the wrong way. It's fine to be confident, but he's been borderline arrogant when it comes to certain things he's said, and as of now, he hasn't proven he can backup his words. He needs to just shut up, play ball, produce on the court, and let his play speak for itself.
The correct thing to say regarding the Lakers would be something along the lines of "I think this Lakers squad can make the playoffs if we all give it 100% and gel as a team." However, saying things like this team will definitely be a playoff team is ridiculous considering the Lakers were a bottom 5 team last year and play in a very tough western conference where even 45 wins doesn't guarantee your team a spot in the playoffs. Try to crawl before you can walk...

Yes indeed. He isn't coming in with the "I hope" speech. Or the "I might" speech. He is showing a great level of confidence and embracing that Laker pride.

blah blah blah...just preseason bs.
of course he has to say all this stuff to the media. do you expect him to say "no we wont!" but would he bet his own money on it? never.
if the lakers do make the playoffs (lol) then he looks like a genius. if they dont, then no one will ever remember this quote.

lol...
Season needs to start so that meaningless quotes like these are non-topics.
What else would you expect him to say in an interview? A player expressing confidence in his team? NO WAIII! HE'S A BUST!
"Nahhhh... we ain't making the playoffs." :oldlol:
Laker fans would have a field day with that one.

Nothing wrong with that but he needs to prepare for some backlash when vets come at him hard
