1. Bandwagon hoppers

Constantly changing teams every other year. Most popular 2015 options are Warriors, Thunder, Cavs, Clippers, Rockets, etc. These fans never stick with a team for 5 years in a row unless that team is consistently very good. They are trend followers for everything. They follow every social media trend, fashion trend, sports trend, music trend, everything just so they can be "cool."

2. Franchise bandwagon fans

These people pick all the most popular/prestigeous franchises in sports or just the franchises that everyone seems to follow and then run with it. Extremely common form of bandwagoning. All of their favorite sports teams consist of the likes of the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks (just because NY, even if they have never been there in their life), Cowboys, Patriots, 49ers, Yankees, Dodgers, FC Barcelona, Kentucky, Duke, Ohio State, etc. An extremely high percentage of these fans are ******s, hispanics, or Europeans (who have never even been to America FFS) but of course they can be any race or type. These fans usually brag constantly about how relevant their team is or how many championships they have. The real, authentic fans of these franchises dont brag nearly as much as these bandwagons do.

You are only a Laker fan because it is cool. You just follow the crowd. It speaks volumes about your character and how pathetic of a human being you must be.

You have never even stepped foot in the state of California. I literally have more of a reason to be a fan than you. I could have been if I wanted to but I'm not a ****ing pansy like you. Do you even have a father?

Bandwagon empire.

He hops on all the popular teams

But he s from Texas.

Types a whole bunch of shit at beginning of year, then no where to be found when his team sucks then re appears and makes countless threads about a super bowl team.

Fair weather fans are the worst. Bandwagon empire is the worst fan on the inanent

Aren't you a bandwagoning Weeknd fan? I didn't see these threads you make everyday about him last year. I don't care if you 'just' joined the forum this year. You should have made those threads on your alt account.

There's other legitimate ways buy for the most part this is true.

Anybody from Europe that says they are a Laker fan is automatically a ****ing tool. No exceptions.

Thats a dumb assumption. Because they are a fan of basketball, but live overseas, they cannot follow the team they choose? Why is that?

OP prob wants to know when you became a Lakers fan, fiddy. Was it during the 3peat or sometime during 2008-2010? I can see his side as I have grown up surrounded by Yankee fans who saw nothing but winning. Meanwhile they are nowhere to be found right now :oldlol:

There are hardly any European Lakers fans. Nearly all of them are Heat fans and switched to being Cavs fans when Lebron moved. The second most popular jersey I've seen in Europe was Lebron Cavs jerseys and Durant Thunder jerseys.

Hardly any Golden State fans over there despite them having IMO, the second best uniform and logo in the league besides LAL and also being the reigning champs.

The first option, by far. Glory chasers are by far the worst.

People who pick winning franchises aren't so bad as long as they stick with their teams through thick and thin.

I knew a poster who was a Patriots, Red Sox, and Pistons fans. Obviously he picked his teams in 2004, but he was still repping them in 2010 when they weren't winning shit. Good guy.

They can follow the league and have teams they like to watch and cheer for but they can't be a true fan of any franchise. That's not authentic. Fiddy is a pathetic bandwagon joke.

I have a roomate from Spain who thinks he is a Laker fan and last year I played with a guy from Romania who thought he was a Laker fan.

Maybe they are Lakers fans. Lakes had Pau Gasol for awhile, the best Spanish player, so it makes sense for a Spanish guy to like them. Lakeshow are not good now so if the Spanish and Romanian dude are sticking with them, they are better fans than many Los Angeles people who were formerly Lakers fans and now jumped on the Clippers bandwagon.

To me, Clippers bandwagoners are the worst. This franchise is a joke. No one gave a shit about them. Then all of a sudden they get good and half of LA, Europe and China becomes clipper fans.

Clippers are a joke and still are in my eyes.

The Clippers had good attendance well before cp3 and Blake. There's a bandwagon element nowadays for sure, but LA overall is an underrated sports town with an unwarranted reputation.

How many years have the Dodgers been near the top in attendance? When was the last time they won a world series?

LOL stop trying to rewrite history. The Clippers had good attendance only because the tickets were so cheap compared to Lakers tickets. The Clippers would literally advertise the star players OF THE OPPOSING TEAMS to get people to come to their games. "Come see Allen Iverson!" "Come see Tracy McGrady!"

The Clippers were nearly universally regarded as the worst franchise in pro-sports history. Sports Illustrated even wrote a cover story about it.

I never met a single Clippers fan in LA until Shaun Livingston and Elton Brand got there and they made the playoffs once. Then all the Clips fans disappeared again until Blake Griffin's second year.

Doesn't matter who the owner was. The franchise was garbage and the fans went to games only to see the opposing player's stars. Clippers had to advertise the visiting team stars instead of their own players in order to put butts in the seats.

Then when the Clippers made the playoffs once with Brand and Livingston, all these Clips fans came out of the woodwork like cockroaches and then disappeared again until Blake and CP3 got there. No one wore Clippers jerseys until that one year they made the playoffs.

Clippers are a great bandwagon example.

Another recent example of bandwagoners I hate are the new Celtics fans that showed up in 2008 after they got KG and Ray. The year before the Garden was half empty all season long and giving MVP chants to Kobe Bryant. After Celtics got KG, all of these European Celtics fans magically appeared on insidehoops and a shit ton of east coast people suddenly became "life long Celtics fans":facepalm :facepalm :facepalm

Make all the excuses you want, the Clippers reliably averaged 16-17,000 fans per game throughout the 2000s. They made the playoffs ONCE in that span. How is Los Angeles a bad sports town when the very distant B team, a laughingstock franchise, pulls in A team-like attendance?

Stop trying to rewrite history.
They got these fans by selling cheap tickets that undercut Lakers tickets and by promoting the opposing team's stars ahead of their own players.

LA is not a bad sports town but the Clippers are a joke franchise with a majority fanbase of johnny-come-lately bandwagoners.

Equally disgusting are the mass of European and Australian Clippers bandwagoners.

Exactly. The Clippers had an owner that didn't care about winning, so the team never won. Well, he's out and their current owner wants to win. The lakers used have an owner that wanted to win and won. Know they don't have such an owner and are total garbage. Things never stay the same. Some people can't let go of the past. It's like everything has to stay the same.

Clippers bandwagoners and any "Clippers fans" who became fans only after CP3 came are a joke. There is no getting denying this.
