he was also ROTY

pretty phenomenal achievements considering they are literally in all phases of the game. player, coach and management. Short of owner he has mastered all phases of the game.

He also won all 7 college player of the year awards(naismith, AP, Oscar robertson, Wooden, Rupp, Sporting News, and NABC) and was the first basketball player to be named AP Athlete of the Year(though Jordan and Lebron have done it since).

Nobody overlooks it, part of Larry Bird's greatness is what he's been able to add to his resume post-playing career.

Bill Russell has an argument for GOAT BBIQ too, but yeah, Bird is at the very top. He also has eidetic memory.

Jordan. He's the greatest to every physically play the game.

But Bird is the "Basketball GOAT" when considering all aspects of the game

Jerry West has all of it except Coach of the Year. I'm not sure how good of a coach he would have been. He had a short stint but not sure that showed anything one way or the other. Albeit Bird hated coaching and had Rick Carlisle pretty much do everything for him at the time......
