Anybody here listen to Moby?

I got lead onto him by his soundtrack for the Bourne Triology... Em used to be a dick to him back in the day.

Moby's album "18" is amazing IMO.. never really listened to that kind of music, its not quite techno, all I know is its great... check it out.

Eminem is a clown. Talented, but still a f*cking clown. Guy used to 'beef' with the likes of Moby, Britney Spears, and Mariah Carey. Lame as phuck.:facepalm

Anyway, Moby will be my nigguh until I die. He has this program where indie filmmakers can use his music for their productions (as long as it's not for profit). He has a massive library of his songs, instrumentals, etc that anyone can use free of charge.

Been a fan of his for years- Porcelain, Natural Blues, When it's cold I'd like to die, The Lonely Night (1962 remix) are all classics.

Play is still his best work.

Yeah, I kinda looked past that Em shit, but now that I'm familiar with Moby (not that he ever seemed anything else but harmless), some idiotic moves by Em... his speech at the MTV awards is cringe.

:applause:

Really hard to pin down his style to just one description like 'techno'. Play was perfect of example of how unique and varied his music was. Just compare Southside, which was more pop/rock, to 'Why does my heart feel so bad?', more house/dance, to Porcelain, which is just something else.

The Moby album "Play" is a masterpiece for that style of music.

Play it while chillin in a park, going for a walk, seeing some scenery, daydreaming, etc.

Not a Moby fan, but Play is a good album.

South Side is

And a song of his is used in the best ending of a TV episode ever.

I was afraid to admit I enjoyed any of Moby's music for a few years after Eminem started going after him. Eminem had a lot of pull in terms of dictating what was okay to like and not to like among youth and he kind of ruined Moby's reputation for a while. That Music Awards clip Arbitrary posted is so awkward in hindsight.

Anyhow, Play is among my all-time favorite albums, particularly in terms of being one of those that can be listened to from front to back, like Deltron 3030, Madvillainy or whatever other favorites you guys have out there.

I was always partial to "Natural Blues", and he had a lot of reputable hits within the first ten tracks, but 11-18 are pretty great in their own right.
