It's quite simple really, Kobe has been the best player in 4 Finals to Shaq's 3.

I mean, I don't even know where to start here :lol Maybe some kobe fan would care to explain?

Depends on what he means by that statement, Hakeem did outplay Shaq in 95 in a sweep and Shaq was a 3rd option at best in 06. 04 I would give it to neither of them, Kobe was injured and the whole team was in turmoil, Pistons let Shaq eat so that Kobe would get the ball less to stop him from getting in a zone...Chauncey Billups to me was the best player in that series in terms of production and leadership.

IMO they both were the best player in 3 Finals for their career.

[QUOTE]Chauncey Billups: Our game plan was very calculated. We knew we were going to play Shaq straight-up. We knew there was no way we could stop Shaq straight-up. And there was also no way we could stop Kobe straight-up. But, if we

you just killed Kobe, you know that?

Shaq was by far the best player in the 2004 finals, and played Hakeem to a draw in '95.

Big LeBron fan here, just want to say that Kobe has been the best player in more finals than Shaq. It is what it is. Kobe is also better than LeBron.

"best player".....

- Larry Bird was the "best player" in 81'....but Maxwell won FMVP
- Curry was the best player in 14' but Iggy won FMVP
- Kobe was the best player in 01' ( Shaq and Phil both said this) but Shaq won FMVP
- Kobe was the best player in 08' but PP won FMVP....Kobe was the best in 09' + 10' also...( that's 4)

Kobe was the best player in 01' ( Shaq and Phil both said this) but Shaq won FMVP

Player A: 33/15.8/4.8 with 3.4 blocks on 57.3%

Player B: 24.6/7.8/5.8 with 1.4 steals/1.4 blocks on 41.5%

In what universe would player B deserve FMVP over Player A? Also, who was player A abusing the entire series?

You really could argue that Kobe was better than Shaq during the first 3 rounds of '01, but Shaq was clearly the best player in the Finals, as he was every time he made it as a Laker
