View Full Version : When all is said and done what will you tell your grandkids about Lebron and Kobe?

What stories will you tell them about Lebron James and Kobe Bryant?

Will you villify one of them and glorify they other?

Or will you praise both?

How will you react when your grandkids friend visits and tells your grandkid that that era actually sucked and you, the grandpa, is stuck being delusional for even having the audacity to think those two or any of the primitive nameless players they played with/against were any good?

I would make up stories about how Kobe and LeBron could bench press 500+ pounds each, I would speed up gifs of them to show the 'elite athleticism they possesed' and I would hype up all their contemporaries to no end.

For example, I would state that Matthew Dellevadova had a 40 inch vertical, and Kendrick Perkins would be a star big man in the future era.

I'll tell you this much, I'm not gonna let some punk ass kid disrespect me in my own house. I'd tell that little ignorant bitch to go cut me a switch and I'd treat him like the '97 Jazz treated Beans in the playoffs.

I'm going to write some articles of LeBron benching 500 pounds, and masquerading it as a 'reputable' source.

30 years form now i'll quote it and play it off as a legit source, fool them all like how Cavsftw tries to fool us now.

LeBron: He was the third most dominant player I have ever seen. And if he turned it all the way on, he may be first. Never seen a player with his size and elite athleticism. This man could jump out of a building while carrying a building.

But mentally weak...just mentally weak. Had all the tools to be the GOAT and didn't utilize them.

Kobe: The best shot maker I have ever seen. Ever. Including Jordan. The shots in his repertoire have such a high level of difficulty, I am still astounded every time I watch his highlight reels. They are unreal. Crazy amount of basketball IQ. Great defender in his prime. Could put a team on his back.

But he took so many bad shots in his career that he had no business taking. And often, he could have passed out of those shots to an open teammate or hockey assist. He had no problem shooting in double, triple team. That's just not good basketball. He was probably the most selfish player I have ever seen.

Since both played in an era where Basketball was actually popular and it was extremely difficult to become an NBA player (as opposed to an era where the being an NBA player was the career path of choice for failed insurance salesmen), Kobe and LeBron will NOT be criticized for playing in a weak era, like guys like Russell/Wilt are.

I heard LeBron could bench 1000 pounds and that Kobe killed a bunch of raptors with his bare hands and also slept 20 000 times with a girl in Colorado. Then I'll cut to rangzcount.

Kids in the future wont give af about points per game, they'll all be well versed in advanced stats and that'll be the measurement even leisurely conversation and debate centers on.

Thus there will be very little reverence for kobe in the future. Once the most influential ringtard of all time (tony kornheiser) retires, there will be nobody to beat such intellectually lazy criteria for greatness into the minds of the public. More logical and analytical pundits will continue to emerge like The Great Henry Abbott.

There wont be any need to talk about Kobe, bc the kids wont care. He'll be seen in proper context as being on a similar tier to jamal crawford or gilbert arenas. Kids will want to hear about players who truly dominated the game in effective and meaningful ways. They want to hear about King James.

Lebron was a player that had to form super teams to even win anything. He was mentally weak. For a super star he had big holes in his game. Not fun to watch because he liked to hold the ball for so long. Traveled a lot.
Kobe scored a lot of points but was not an efficient player. He was a poor man's MJ. Jerk as a person. Raped some girl.

Gileraracer
09-14-2015, 05:32 AM
I will tell them that LeBron colluded with several Superstars just to end with a finals win percentage of .33 while Kobe stayed loyal to his team and ended with a finals win percentage of .72

- lebron was so good that his decision to go to another team was live on tv and got more press coverage than a presidential election
- kobe raped a girl 20k times, then his wife raped him for 200M and a diamond ring the size of colorado. The rape victim later said that she only testified because kobe didn't want to have a relationship with her and that she loved every second of the black mamba.
- lebron ran faster than a mountain lion
- kobe had a western style shootout with a bunch of dallas mavericks and needed only 3 rounds out of 4 to finish them
- lebron never took any peds
- kobe scored 81 points and beat the raptors with a team of highschooler juniors
- lebron was already discussed as the GOAT when he entered senior year in high school
- MJ said kobe is a superior version of himself
- MJ said lebron has the best out of him, pippen, magic and shaq
- lebron only needs 3 quarters to beat a team
- tim duncan, the oldest player in the league in 2050, is a half vampire and is the only person to lead a team over both lebron and kobe.
- lebron was inducted into the pornography HOF after his record 20" dick was seen live on tv
- The Kobemate award, given to the best teammate in the league, is named after Kobe Bryant, who was always considered a friendly, warm, honorable and trustworthy teammate
- kobe was the inventor of the kobe-assist, an advanced stat used now in 2050 to measure passing ability
- lebron went to the finals multiple times with teams that routinely lost to highschool teams
- tupac said kobe was the strongest influence for his work
- shaq was a fat lazy drunkard who got carried by kobe
- the holy trinity of lebron-kobe-jordan started being worshipped during my youth.
- lebron had an nba player so impressed, he proclaimed himself lebron's servant.

both were great, that lebron was a little better.

it took lebron a couple years to really have confidence in the clutch, but that he was never as fearless as kobe, and not as skilled as a scorer. however lebron was a much better passer, rebounder, and a little better as a defender, tilting it in his favor.

how am i supposed to know how I will react to an argument that wont be made for 30 years? thats absurd

i'll take their argument at face value, and consider it objectively, and wont cling to players from my youth for nostalgia's sake.

I hate to break it to you, but so much will have changed in 40 or 50 years. We will probably see 4 or 5 people break into the top10 (which means a bunch of legends getting pushed out). I GUARANTEE young people will look at the people we watch today in an extremely different light.

Game 6 in the fourth quarter, when LeBron went "Super Saiyan" for a few minutes. His block on Duncan and then scoring on him on the other end was just an unforgettable sequence.

And of course, Game 7 of the 2013 Finals. LeBron's finest hour.

For Kobe, i'll talk about game 1 of the 2009 Finals. Everything media pundits say about Kobe "wanting it" or having the instinct, it was all on display there. It was just marvelous.

Also, Kobe's 61 point game in MSG.

Kobe - blessed with great athleticism and god given gifts but couldn't utilise them properly. He had the body, the speed, agility, power, height, but couldn't use it intelligently. I would tell them this is a case of talent where hard work, skill and mental toughness and court smarts are needed.

Lebron - freak of nature who was the smartest player in the game period. Height like j, explosive as westbrook, body like jordan, shot like bird, strength like malone, passing like magic, defense like pippen, fearless and unstoppable like shaq, etc. A case of no flaws. One. Man. Wrecking. Crew.

ok maybe a slight exaggeration lol :oldlol:

but alot of his shots are tough are contested so you gotta give him that. He even shot over 40% from 3 one season despite being tripled every game.

:biggums:

isn't the consensus on lebron in the finals now to leave him wide open for a jump shot that he either misses or doesn't take?

Sometimes it really seems like you only watch the highlights packages....

meh not really wide open if the defender still got a hand up. I mean he shoots the j pretty well, you can only hope he misses from fatigue.
