This happened a few days ago but I didn't see a thread. James Blake, who was once ranked #4 in the world is tackled and brought to the ground by police.

The whole thing was ridiculous because he was suspected of a white collar crime, and if he was who they thought he was not dangerous and not armed. And they tackled him without telling him why.
People are getting hung up on the tennis star thing but i don't think you'd necessarily know dude. He was though this normal looking, well dressed, well spoken person suspected of identify theft and they tackled him like he was super dangerous.

He gets an apology from the police commissioner and the mayor. If he'd been just some random black guy he wouldn't have gotten shit. What an embarrassment for the city. I personally blame KevinNYC.

I was pointing at the other black guy. The one behind him. It was a mixup.

Freddie Gray's family got $6.4 million dollars before the officers trial has even been held.
All you gotta do is claim racism and threaten to burn the city down and you'll get something.
As for this guy, I have no idea who he is, never heard the name. He looks like anyone else to me. Still, I read the cops never identified themselves which is a big no no. Put them on leave and if that's true, get rid of them.

You do know the difference between being tackled, and dying don't you?

That was my first thought. The cop could have very easily identified himself, stated what he was doing and James Blake would have shown him his ID and answered a few questions. Instead he gets tackled to the ground like an suspected armed robber or something. :facepalm
