Call me crazy but the only tandems in that group I would be afraid of are MJ/Barkley, Wade/Olajuwon and Bird/Duncan. Lebron and Malone belong on the Beta All-Star team.

Agreed. Rarely would a peak a Kobe team, but with Kareem and the other teams not having good balances, it is the obvious choice.

Lebron and any top 30 big man in his prime will win stupid amounts of chips.

It's a shame he's never gotten to play with one once :rant

I like those three the most because they have the best defensive bigs. I'm not sure who I like most though.

Lol at Kareem and Kobe they'd probably still miss the playoffs in their prime.

So they miss the finals 2 years. Any particular reason for that?

Duncan and Bird

Great O and D, BBIQ and intangibles. No chemistry issues.

Kobe and Kareem would work for some years only IMO. When Bean would go into "Kobe mode", he could easily shoot his team out of Playoffs, like he did with prime Shaq, with Kareem it would be no different.

So it boils down what kind of Kobe we are getting, smarter version means team-oriented playstyle, and Kobe/Cap would dominate other combos, if not - his team is screwed.

They would be interesting. I think they're the best pair of two way players. I feel like Kareem posts up so much further from the hoop than Shaq did that they could probably co-exist better because there's more room for an attacking guard. And Kareem has experience with a few of those types of players even at that level.

The Bird Duncan tandem to me is interesting because you get the most size, and probably still have the best combination for spacing. You could conceivably play them at PF and SF, or PF and C, and have a huge variety of looks in terms of what else you can do with the roster.

Kobe/Kareem combination impact, IMO, can be substantially mitigated by a very aggressive defensive big, and a guy like Tony Allen. Mitigated.. not neutralized.

Whereas Bird and Duncan or Wade/Olajuwan are so damn well-rounded, so strong, so... difficult to lock down.. so fantastic in the paint in creating plays for others that when complimented by subpar role players such as a Korver or a Reddick; an okay PF like Haslem, and a Rondo; they would wreck the opposition.

Lebron and Malone would pick and roll their opponents to Death. People easily forget that Malone also had a good midrange jumper.

The pick and roll works best with 2 solid mid range jump shooters. Don't think you're gonna just replace Stockton with Lebron and get the same affect.

I would have to go with MJ/Barkley, Duncan/Bird, and Kobe/Kareem.

Yep...the rest pale in comparison assuming that Shaq maintains he lazy work ethic.

A Stockton/un lazy 100% committed Shaq destroys any duo on that list.

I would go with MJ/Barkley. That type of athleticism and relentlessness would break teams.

Like, actually make them quit. It would glorious to watch.

Edit: 1990 Jordan and 1990 Barkley. It would be a joke.

I would go with MJ and Barkley in terms of Dominance. But in terms of Making Other Teamates Better id Definetly go with Duncan and Bird. Fundamentals and B-Ball IQ Off The Charts!

Kobe and Kareem with Pat Riley as the coach.

Duncan/Bird, Kobe/Kareem, and Wade/Olajuwan are the most balanced/dominant tandems imo.

MJ/Barkley is just awkward.. two scorers whose skills overlap, one notoriously lazy, one with legendary work ethic, just seems like a recipe for disaster.

Bron/Karl are ultimate beta compilation.. obviously. Would probably make the Finals 16 times and win like 3 rings.

Shaq paired with a ball dominant PG who liked to push the pace and thrived in PnR? pretty poor pairing

Magic and Dirk are real nice offensivsely but just give up so much on defense.. plus Dirk is a halfcourt guy and the mavs usually played at a slower pace to maximize his isolation and spacing ability. Just doesn't seem like a great fit with magic.
