"That Pau trade really did change everything. It kept Kobe in L.A. and allowed him to become one of the two or three greatest Lakers ever. It swelled the Laker Nation, multiplied Kobe's army of fanatics and it even resulted in Ron Artest giving a championship speech on the floor after a heroic Game 7 in the NBA fricking Finals."

Wade below Vince Carter, and T-Mac?

Shaq from 2000-2001 to 2009-2010 averaged 21/10/2 in over 600 games
KG from 2000-2001 to 2009-2010 averaged 21/11/1.5 in over 700 games

One thing I don't understand is putting Tony Parker over Dwyane Wade.

KG over Shaq is a joke, and I'd love to see their explanation for having Wade below Parker and Vince

If you read it they explain why they chose KG over Shaq. Reason being was that Duncan played Center the entire time (not even getting into that) and basically Duncan > Shaq in that era. The article mentioned that if you argue Duncan as a forward, then Shaq starts over Lebron, which makes sense.

Are all nba teams position specific? Why can't you do shaq, Duncan, and Lebron?

SB Nation's been doing a series all summer on all decade teams from the 50's onwards.

I guess they laid out rules that there should be a C-F-F-G-G format and just needed to stick with it.

That said, were Robinson, Rasho, and Mohammed centers? Seems putting Shaq on the 2nd team is reactionary bait click

And T-Mac and Iverson. One of the worst articles ever.

2000-2009?

Lol at Jordan not being on this list. Writer probably forgot Jordan played on Wizards. Doesn't matter what his numbers were, the fact that Jordan was even present till 03 puts him in automatically. Yawn......

The 2000's NBA couldn't even beat Euroleague - literally - they lost 7 times to Euroleague in the Olympics and World Games between 2002-2006.

They only way to describe the NBA when it can't beat Euroleague is to say the 2000's was the worst and weakest era the NBA ever produced.. :confusedshrug:

I dont know how Carlos Arroyo is unstoppable in international competition but in the NBA he is just an average NBA player. Might have to do with pride of the nation.

I was looking at this and ended up clicking on the 90s one and burst out laughing when I saw Tim Duncan on the 2nd team all 90s when he played 2 season in that decade. After reading that I can't take anything from this site serious ever again.

List is basically good.

Marion over Webber though? That jumped out at me. Webber was a top 5 player for half of the decade, and a good player for the rest of it. Marion was never a top 20 player.

No way in hell should Reggie be ahead of Payton.

So I just read through all the teams (just the players, rarely the explanations) and I saw, in the 50s team page, they explain the criteria, sort of.

They say they go by C, F, F, G, G, but "will fudge positions" if necessary, and college is never included. Then they can't/won't fudge positions to include Shaq in the 00's first team (Duncan as a F), and choose to consider Duncan's college career in the 90's. ISH-worthy article. In a bad way.

If this list is 2000-2009, then I can understand SOME of the crap that is on the list. But if "All-2000's" means from 2000 on, then this list is probably one of the more jacked up things I have seen in a while. What a disgrace
