I'm being fair here. If I lived in a shitty place of civil war, and international law allowed me to become a refuge and go to any country I wanted, I would take that opportunity too.

Let's call it like it is. Western governments have been completely ignoring the ethnic cleansing of Christians in the Middle East. A lot of us have been saying "why isn't anything being done about this" for a while now. Nobody seemed to care when Christian REFUGEES were being thrown overboard by Muslim MIGRANTS on human trafficking boats from Libya.

But suddenly, when Muslims are illegally crossing borders, everybody's militant "compassion" comes out and it's simply not good enough to merely be accepted into safe countries. They MUST have a choice to pick any of the richest counties with the most generous welfare states.

Australia is taking in much less, but on population to refugee ratio we would be up there.
