Are we talking about for 1 series, 1 year, or from here on out (franchise-wise).

For 1 series, I'd take Iggy. For the rest I got Kawhi.

Kawhi.

They both play great defense, but Kawhi's offensive game is tiers above Iguodala's.

Kawhi, easily.

Iggy is one of the most overrated players of this era...and this is coming from a Sixers fan who has probably watched 60% of all Sixers games since 2000.

:oldlol: That's cold.

Iggy is definitely a great player, was better of course. Idk how midatlantic can say he was overrated in his time in Philly. I mean, he's not a franchise player but my god if he's your third option he's spectacular. Even second option in those days woulda been great. In many ways I think 76er Iggy is what Kawhi wants to be. Kawhi really has only had 1 spectacular series and it was indeed against Bron. He basically was Ron Artest but hasn't been able to re-catch that level of play since. We will see what he looks like this year but he really needs to be much more aggressive and stop settling for jumpers. That said, I take Kawhi's current self over current Iggy. Iggy has just lost so much of his athleticism and scoring ability.

At this point I would take prime Iggy but they are quite similar players and I think that Kawhi can/will be better because of his superior defensive ability due to this freakish length.

Iggy is better scorer and playmaker so far and has a bit more athleticism.

Iguodala's stock rose tremendously after being put in the fortunate position of going one on one with Lechoke in the finals, much like what had previously happened to Leonard

The difference is that Kawhi is very young and should improve, Andre...not so much. Leonard is also a better shooter

Iguodala can play alongside two great back court players, two great front court players or even the mix of both.

Kawhi Leonard is going to be more dependent upon the position of where your scoring/defense comes from.

they are both going to be worth their money, if your team gets to pick who you want/need during the free agency something similar to having the 1st pick.

when your SF can average 8 rebounds a game, I think you think to yourself, or that you wonder what type of lottery pick player I need to place along side my player.

when your SG can average 17-21/3-4 a game, you might wonder what's the ideal pace where your players can still run the plays they need to keep the play making off of just the scoring options ranked before the player

Kawhi.

Well it's obvisouly not tiers above peak Iggy.

I can't answer thread without knowing if its peak Iggy or current Iggy.

It's better...but it's not tiers better. His handle is pretty weak and he's virtually useless off the dribble. He's a better shooter, but Iggy is a way better ball handler and much better off the dribble.

Kawhi hasn't peaked yet though I'd say. His stats as a cog are similar to what Iggy put up as a clear #1 shoot anytime he wanted player. Also, defensively Kawhi is slightly better. Iggy is definitely the better passer tho. If I were drafting and both were on the board it is Kawhi easily. Iggy seems like a more fun team chemistry guy though. Kawhi is dry as dust.

its easily kawhi for me

Iggy is better scorer and playmaker so far and has a bit more athleticism.

really? he seems to lose confidence in his game at times, passing up layups and wide open jumpers.

hes definitely the better passer, but sometimes hes unselfish to a fault.

kawhi is on the other hand is a decent passer, and a pretty good mid range shooter and scorer. hes far ahead of iggy as a scorer right now.

defensively hes better too. all iggy has on kawhi is passing.

Kawhi's already better than prime Iggy. Just this year Kawhi eclipsed each of Igoudala's career highs in WS/48 min, BPM, PER, Ortg, and Drtg.

I think prime Iggy was more talented than Kawhi. Iggy always had all the tools: dribbling, passing, athleticism, defense, and he was a clutch shooter, but he never could put it together to be a tier 1 wing player. He was always in that tier 2 position because he couldn't take over a game. I don't know if always got stuck in that #2 mentality since he started playing with Iverson, but for whatever reason he just couldn't elevate to that top wing status even though he had all the necessary talents. He wasn't a headcase either, always seemed like a smart guy with a good sense of direction.

Kawhi is a better iso scorer, but prime Iguodala could do more things. Much better passer and ball handler. Defense is a wash. Both of them are upper echelon.

GS is a perfect fit for Iguodala, but I would kind of like to see him on a team where he has more offensive responsibility. He hardly ever looks for his shot now and prefers to facilitate because GS has so many weapons.

He absolutely killed it in Denver a few years ago. They won 57 games with him as their best player (even though it was a balanced, by committee type of team).

I like Iggy was more than Lawson but Lawson was easily better. I guess you could make a case for Iggy after Lawson but I think most who watched that team would tell you Gallo had more of an impact. Guess Iggy played really well in the playoffs and Gallo got hurt tho.

For the regular season I'd say Lawson was the best player than after that it was just a group of guys like Iggy, Chandler when healthy, Faried etc. Iggy shot FT's and 3's like shit with us.

Not even a chance he was better than Lawson on that team.

Lawson basically averaged 17/7/3 with 1.5 steals and only 2.5 turnovers. 46/36/75 shooting. Averaged 21/8/3 in the playoffs with 1.7 steals. He had that crazy Feb where he averaged 23/8 while being super efficient and looked like he was going to take that next step.

I didn't miss many Nuggets games that season. Steph Curry just outshined Lawson in the playoffs and people kinda forgot. He had that massive 35/10 playoff game that season.

Iggy if you want to go small with him at the 4. Otherwise, I like Leonard for everything else.

By the way, the Warriors can't win it all without Iggy so hope he stays healthy.

I think Lawson said something like they would play the Heat in the finals that year.. kinda sad how forgotten that team is, crumbled to the Galo (was it?) injury in the playoffs.

Yeah Gallo going down was huge. Underrated defensively that year and was putting up 16 a game and fit perfectly into that "team" mentality. Koufus was beyond brutal in the playoffs that year and was pretty important in the regular season. Mark Jackson outcoached Karl. GS was just the better team and Curry broke out in the playoffs that year. Hung like 24/9/4 on Denver.

In all seriousness though, Kawhi, but only because his age.

People acting like Kawhi in a landslide must have forgotten that Iggy has been a 20ppg scorer before and an allstar. Kawhi has yet to do that, but he has the higher ceiling.

Iggy would have never come close to those numbers on the Spurs... Kawhi this year is a far more influential and prominent player than Iggy, ever.. even last year, his +/- and impact stats were something else.
