Iirc they did alter the rating system a little. I think they made ATGs 99 and the give current players rating comparable to that of a 99 player.
Either way it's stupid because Curry should be a hell of a lot more than 6 points from MJ/Kareem level.

We don't need a hypothetical... we've seen them match up many times. Both guys tend to get whatever they want when they play each other. Westbrook is considered the better defender, but I honestly thought Curry was a better man defender last season. Westbrook is better at playing the passing the lanes and converting TO's to points though.

Kyrie continues to be overrated. Curry has a really good argument as the best PG but don't think the gap is 3 rating points between him and CP3. Westbrook should be closer too. I'm not a huge 2k guy or anything so the ratings could easily be explained.

Ratings have been tuned down to be more realistic ever since LeBron was a 99 in 2k12 or 2k13... can't remember.

99 ratings lead to amazingly unrealistic shit happening, overly made 3s, etc.
