speaking for koreans, they're all overrated and suck more or less.
there are much better actors in korea but since the movie industry is nothing compared to hollywood they don't get the fame minor korean actors do in America. like that doctor female in Ultron got so much hype in korea when she was practically a extra, and they treat her like she's so great just because she was in a blockbuster american movie.
honestly the current generation of actors in America are very overrated in terms of acting skill. its like being part of a dominant industry that rules the world so u have universal appeal and recognition which exacerbates your greatness. it helps english is practically a universal language. but their actual acting skills are very exaggerated and not as polished IMO as some foreign actors who can really sell their roles. i don't even think a lot of famous american actor can make tears pour on the spot, especially the females, while a lot of azn ones can.
i'd maybe say michelle yeoh only because she's done so many kung fu movies and that is the movie niche azn's have in america. she's a pretty decent actor i guess. outside of her all i can think of is the Walking Dead dude :confusedshrug:
and jet li is a shitty american actor, he's much better in his chinese flicks.
hollywood and what it means to be a great actor of today in America is more based on looks than acting chops. to me people like Dicaprio, Pitt, Depp, etc. are nothing close to the Pacino's, Nicholson's, hopkin's, etc. Dicaprio is such a try hard to me...Depp is overrated as fukk...and Pitt is obviously good looking with great roles to play the man. they're not awful but they're nowhere near their rep's people place them. and i won't even get started on the females who i'd swear could not do a lot of out of character norm roles or acting skill moves normal people can't like cry on a dime.

I don't understand. What's the criteria? If Wantanabe counts doesn't that just mean beast Asian actor who's had a career in the U.S.?
Or do you mean who's career has been primarily in the U.S.?

If I said Watanabe then I think you already know the criteria.
