Generally I think of players getting very mediocre on those games once they are under 80. To have 2 in the top 10 for the SFs is just sad.

The SF and SG are both top heavy positions in the NBA. The SG position looks even worse if you take Wade and Kobe off that list, since both guys are borderline retired.

Why do people always post these as if they're a player ranking? Overall rating means pretty much nothing in these games, their tendencies and individual skill rankings matter most to who's most effective.

Actually, NBA 2k has changed their ratings into a pseudo player ranker this year. The best player at any position (in their opinion) will receive a 99 rating, and subsequent players will receive a rating based on how good they are compared the greatest at their position.

That's for each individual skill though as I understood it. They said Dennis Rodman would be 99 in Offensive Rebounding and the second best will get 98, third 97, etc. Overall is still just a sum or average put together combining all those skills as far as I know.
