Saying it a while now...once the OKC trial and error run of BillyD goes south, so will Durant. He's not wasting anymore of his prime with "hopes" OKC gets better.
Also do note, he's on record for not wanting to play in his hometown of DC, and will be looking for a squad on the brink of a title...with him all but sealing the deal. He doesn't want to be the next Barkley or Mailman, and go out ringless.
Welcome to Miami KD35! :applause: :applause: :applause:

Would be all kinds of awesome if KD wins a ship with essentially the same team as Lebron. If that happens Wade moves into top 10 or close and Lebron is finally exposed as a barely top 50 stat padder.

I can't see him leaving. OKC's roster is better right now and in the future and would make more money by resigning Iin OKC.
Plus, OKC could win it all this season.

Well the article explains this notion a bit:
"The Heat will have $37.4 million in cap space in 2016 and can offer Durant a four-year deal if he chooses to leave OKC. The Thunder can offer him a max contract for five years but may have to dig deep into the luxury tax to do so."
OKC is known for being cheap...they'll try to sign KD and trade away Ibaka or WBrook. That's literally how inept their mgmt is :lol

If Durant wins with Wade and Lebron doesn't win in Cleveland (which he won't), then it is proof that Wade - despite the lower stats - was the actual winner behind those Miami rings. That puts him at 4 rings, one against Tim Duncan a top 5 goat including.
Lebron though would be exposed as the most statpadding loser of all time.

He won't win a title in Miami. Wade would be 35 yrs.old while Westbrook is just entering his prime.
And Current Durant is more injury prone than Kyrie Irving. At least playing with another top 5 player in Westbrook he can afford to miss some games in the regular season.

What a crock of shit. Even if Durant did have a "wish list", he sure as hell wouldn't let it be any kind of known this far in advance because it'd cause all kinds of shit in the locker room.

As someone who called LeBron to Miami like 8 months before it happened, I don't see it here.
Wade and Bosh are much older now so that doesn't hold nearly as much appeal.
If Durant is leaving OKC, then it's for a situation that will get him a better chance at winning a title in a window that can be sustained for more than just one run.

To bring KD to Miami, Wade will have to take a sizeable paycut and Whiteside will likely leave.
this is where Miami just gives him the take it or leave it salary...he bitched his way to get his $23 mil contract this year from Rile's, now Riley can throw the chips at KD and Whiteside (if he continues his upward trend), and whatever is leftover will be taken by Wade without remorse from Rile's or the Heat front office.
for Wade to have any leverage to actually get a substantial contract from the Heat going forward, he has to basically reemerge as 2010-11 Wade or before, and that's unlikely...especially with a prime susperstar like KD having thoughts of coming to SoBe.
maybe Wade will finally settle in taking the lowball salary and finally agrees to the Zo/Tim Hardaway route in getting a substantial check while apart of the Heats' front office.
it would be really amazing to see a lineup circling around these players:
Whiteside
Bosh/KD
KD/Justise
Wade/Justise
Dragon
This would be doing the Heat a favor. Doing the Heat a favor is not what Durant is looking for.

Whiteside, Justise and Dragon are all on the younger side...Wade and Bosh would fit perfectly in the veteran/leadership role behind a prime KD, as he goes apeshit on a nightly basis without hesitation and deciphering over the 1a/1b role with WBrook.
it's not as bad a fit, to be honest.

Pat Riley strikes again. Damn.
You want to say: How do the Heat have a better future than the Wizards? They don't have more talent.
But they've got Riley. He has been a champion as a coach and as a... whatever he is now. He has been a champion recently.
The Wizards have basically never ever been good.
So I can see the logic here. But what if the Wiz win 50 games and the Heat go under-.500? If the Wizards are a top 3 team in the conference without Durant, I can't believe he wouldn't at least consider us.

So people still haven't realized this article/source is full of shit? For f***k's sake it says the Heat top Durant's wishlist. Why the hell would Durant have a "wishlist of teams" so long before he's actually a free agent. Even if he did have a "wishlist" why the hell would he let it leak who's at the top of that "wishlist" when he's got an entire season to play before he's a free agent? If this was next June or something, then yes, it might be more believable, but in September it reeks of bullshit.
Dragonyeuw
09-23-2015, 07:40 AM
I call BS on this. You really think Durant is going to openly have a wishlist of teams OTHER than the one he's playing for? That would completely disrupt team chemistry if there's a cloud hanging overhead that the franchise player wants to play elsewhere, and the info being put on blast.

There's a pretty decent chance he won't even have a "wishlist" of teams next summer when he's actually a free agent, let alone 10 months and an entire season to play with his current team before becoming a free agent.
The actual article isn't a credible piece, but you'd have to be naive to think Durant, should he elect legitimately consider other possibilities, that Miami won't be under consideration.
An organization with a proven track record, and South Florida. Please believe it.

no, what's wishful thinking is OKC fan base/KD fan base buying into OKC having Billy Donovan as a saviour to come in and turn around a team in 1yr while, arguably, the #1 player in the league is up for free agency. who does sh!t like this? and it goes even further in that the another top 10 player in the league, WBrook, is also a FA for the same squad. :facepalm
too risky a move left in the hands of the unproven...simple as that. what is going to reassure KD or WBrook in that if things are a bit rough this season, that it will get better over time with BillyD? his stellar tenure in Gainesville?

certainly pretty good if the funds are there, that's no doubt. but living in OKC with $20 mil and Miami with $20 mil are very different lifestyles.
as for being on the road half the time during the season, ok granted. the other half is still alongside the beach and an upbeat day and nightlife, if in Miami.

DragonI'd have to look into specifics, but I think Durant's max should be ~$27M next year, assuming he gets 30% of a $90M cap. That leaves $10.5M in 1st year salary for Whiteside, who could field better offers elsewhere. That assumes Wade takes the vet min or the room exception, which could happen- we never know. Getting rid of McRoberts would open more $$$ for Whiteside/Wade, but he'll be a fairly cheap backup on a team that might have a thin bench.
It's doable, but requires quite a bit of moving parts.

lol...why would I be upset? any superstar or star that considers the Heat, be it KD, Beal, Horford, etc. will be a plus for us. even if we lose out on the top tier of FA's next summer, we can still land someone who will ONLY be beneficial to the Heat as our core is pretty much set for a few more years. landing a 2nd tier player like DeRozan, Parsons, Noah still improves this team, we don't have the concerns over losing anyone as does OKC.
OKC's two options rest solely on a deep playoff run, or hopes that BillyD doesnt sink the ship before it even gets to the post-season. again, our chances remain favorable to yours...the Heat can remain mediocre this year for more success later, the team is well aware of the long-term goals pitched by Riley. OKC is relying on this season, and this season only to determine their future of continued stardom or into the lottery.
