OVER 700? Really? That's horrible! They need to have some kind of tour guides on the edges to calm everyone down so this never happens again.

Not to make light of the situation, but in general Arabic people are ****ing rude, won't wait for their turn and have no idea how to queue.

That shit can't help in a situation like this.

That's just 3rd world mentality brah. It's the same in India. I got off the plane there, and you know how usually you have to wait in an orderly line to go through security and customs? In the Bombay airport, it was literally everyone in a crowd smashing through to get through the gate, no line, no check, no nothing. If you didn't smash through yourself, you would never get out of the airport. See this kind of shit all the time in Mexico City too. 3rd world mentality doesn't believe in lines and orderly queues, has nothing to do with race.

Considering the fact this keeps happening, Saudi idiots should be doing something to help organize the pilgrimage. Seems like they don't give a shit.

Saudi Arabia is the most badly run country in the world.

I never said it has anything to do with race, just culture. I mean some of these places are supposedly rich and developed, aren't they? High quality of life, for the citizens any way. But rude and childish.

What I don't get is, how does this happen every year, and nothing is done to correct it?

Can they not hand out pamphlets or something to encourage civility and organization??

They all have rich and developed spots, but there's always shanty towns right next door.

All of these cities and countries have some nice neighborhoods and gated communities but the other 99% of the cities are uneducated people living in slums and squalor their whole lives. Yeah it's rude and childish to us, but if you don't act that way there, you won't survive.

Seems like Saudi simply doesn't give a shit. This would be easy to prevent and wouldn't even cost very much. No one in the Saudi government cares.

IIRC, the purpose is to touch or pray near one of the scriptures that Abraham apparently Abraham built. I think they relaxed it recently by allowing people praying near it and not actually touching it to try and create less injuries. Maybe someone can correct me on this? An easy solution would be to create a new scripture like right near the place but obv it does have the same holiness and meaning behind it so that won't work.

So that with the fact it's a holiday where millions of people make it to this one pilgrimage probably creates a hectic atmosphere where everyone has to rush to accommodate everyone.

There are 5 million people there for Eid. There are 6 million people in Oktoberfest every year in Munich and they are drunk and death stampedes don't happen there. The amount of people is no excuse. This kind of thing is easily preventable with a minimal amount of organization.

You're probably right in all honesty and I may be wrong on this but having 5 million people try to touch one scripture in the middle is probably the main cause of the issue. But they can definitely design it better though...

It would be like packing those 6 million people for beerfest in some big venue and tell them to touch the stage and take a shot then go back or something.

This stampede happened 3 miles away from Mecca in a tent town to house the pilgrims.

I liked it but saw a lot of nasty shit. The cities were hell holes, everywhere you go you think it's an empty street, then out of nowhere an army of beggars comes, most of them have their nose chopped off or had their legs broken as babies, so they are grown men with baby legs that never grew, who have to crawl around on their hands, it was like hell in real life. And then the army of constant beggar kids trying to scam you and steal your shit all the time. The cities all suck.

The nature and temples were awesome, it was also cool to go to random ass villages and the people there are sitting on 10KG burlap sacks of weed and selling it for pennies. I also liked how they had bulls roaming around freely, and how everyone drove like crazies but when a bull walked through everyone would politely stop and wait for it to pass. Overall I had a good time in India, only went from Bombay to the north though, there is loads more to see in that country. Want to go back one day.

I can't speak for those other countries but there's no mad dash to get through security gates in Mexican airports bruh. Have you ever even been to Mexico? I've gont to many airports including Mexico City's and it's orderly.

Yes I been to Mexico several times and Mexico City too. I never been to the airport, but the rest of the city is a third world hell, so I assumed the airport would be too.

Well you assumed wrong.

Just because it's a developing country, doesn't make it a third world hell hole either. There are nice places and fvcked up places. We have soccer games and mad stampedes don't happen (unlike what happen between Juventus and Liverpool fans in the UEFA Champs Final), in developed country no less.

Humans sometimes act like idiots, simple as that.

But....Did you know.....

That 700 is not the highest number of casualties? In 1990, 1,426 Muslims perished by way of stampede. God wills it!

It keeps happening consistently every 2-3 years or so and they keep doing nothing about it to help these people and organize the Hajj. F*ck Saudi Arabia.

You are getting fired up over an ISH member who is yet to make a negative comment about this? albeit anyone for that matter?

This might be something tasteless some Muslims here have run their mouth on when it concerned deaths of Western people in particular americans, but us civilised lot do not celebrate the death of innocent people no matter what religion they are.

Crazy to me the mob mentality takes over, and nobody bothers to help those who fell.

I think thats the culture though. One thing I noticed about the Afghans I worked with was they don't have a sense of 'personal space'. They just kinda, rubbed up against you when they walked, and thought nothing about it.

They used to crowd 30 deep into the back of box trucks to watch porn together. Sleep 6 guys in a truck cab with their feet all over each other and shit.

It was weird, to me at least.

But you know a lot of that is just on how we live. Here everyone has their own bedroom, over there your whole family sleeps in one big room. Its just the way they were raised.
