I'm actually for it, but I hope he could play some D, because Masai don't like big men who can't rotate. It's a one year deal though. I expect Scola to start, and 2Pat to be the first big off the bench, but Bennett could find opportunities to take advantage of. If he doesn't, there's a nice spot on the bench for his ass.

Low risk, high reward move. I like it!

What kind of role does everybody else think Bennett will play?

Why?

No need for Bennett.

He'll play for the 905's. Bennett being closer to Brampton is a good thing, since he's going to need all the time he can get in the D-league.

Still can't see a role for him on the main team, though.

I like it. If he has any shot at living up to even 50% of the expectations he had 2 years ago I'm glad he has that shot with his home team.

I like the whole roster construction in fact. Lowry-DeRozan-Carroll-Patterson-Valanciunas is a balanced starting 5, the two stars who've been carrying the team in recent times, plus an underrated all rounder addition who makes up for a lot of the lineup's former weaknesses, a player who is getting his chance in the starting lineup after doing really well from the bench for this time, as well as the one who should break through to be the centrepoint of the franchise.

Joseph-Ross-Johnson-Scola-Biyombo make up a bench who will all think they are already close to being starter level players and will feel they have more to show (except Scola who should be the team's wise old head).

And Wright-Powell-Caboclo-Bennett-Bebe are all players early in their NBA career who are far from sure things (as you'd expect from 11-15th men) but will be thinking they have the talent to make it to the top. If even one pans out that's great.

Of course I'd still trade a bunch of them if we could get a superstar but we probably can't yet so this is about as good as I could have expected.

He's getting the vet's minimum, FYI.

AB has some tools "in the right role".

His motor at the world championships sort of proves it.

Not sure what role he will play with the "big team" or the "little team".

If he is on the big team I would suspect a developmental role at the 4 position pretty deep on the bench... behind Scol / Patterson / even James J in a small ball line up.

....Joseph-Ross-Johnson-Scola-Biyombo make up a bench

Other than I "think" Scol will be the starting 4...

No disagreement or antagonism... just DCase seems to like vets as starters.

Nothing but positives with this low risk signing.

Liked what I saw from him this summer with Team Canada.

This is his chance to write off that 'bust' label.
