Anyone play? I have been on a complete tear this season after being introduced to DFL's last year. I have a lot of money tied up in season long fantasy, but I tend to pay more attention (and thus, care more) about my daily leagues.
Last year (my first year), I started with $50 and ended the NFL season (week 16) at +$640.
Through two weeks this season (I don't play DFL's in week 1), I started with $50 and am now +$62.55.
Figured I could make a thread for some DFL chit chat. Its big money, and much more exciting than season long. I have become addicted.
Arizona is retarded, won't allow online gambling.
That applies to DK as well?
Weird.

OP, how do you cash out after your winnings??
Hit the cash out button.
My step brother won $11,250 on DK in a fantasy PGA tournament, and he had the check from them in his hand in less than a week.
DK, Fan Duel, Sportsbook.com, online poker, etc...
I used to bet on football doing parlays on sportsbook until a few years ago it wouldn't accept my credit card info anymore.
Find a relative who lives out of state.
That sucks. I dont know what Id do without gambling in general, but especially sports gambling.

Wrote a report about them about a week ago, lots of people complained about not deceptive advertising and not doubling your initial deposit. Some dude from florida filed a class action lawsuit against them over 25$. Three or four more similar lawsuits were ongoing.

People dont read the fine print. It clearly states how you get it.
yeah, i know, guys who gamble really don't need to be reminded about certain realities.
but those ads are fukcing annoying. it's pretty blatant.
I read that DK will spend more on advertising this year than Coca Cola.
I also read an article not too long ago about how the winners of DK leagues are usually the same 100 or so people with advanced algorithms to tell them who to pick.
The problem with DK is that many people deposit $25, lose, and then never come back, so they have to continue to advertise to keep new players coming in, because many people just lose and bail.
As I mentioned earlier, I was able to win almost $600 last year during NFL season (lost about $300 during NBA season, fack) and am up $60 and some change this year.
This week will be big, I have quite the sneaky lineup in play. I'm expecting a big pay out.

I have not gotten into the daily fantasy thing. I'm in three season long fantasy leagues, all with local guys, that go from 20 bucks, to 100 bucks, to 1000 bucks. So far all my teams have been terrible.
I've gambled heavily on sports for a very long time. I'm usually pretty choosey, but when I decide I like a game I will go heavy on it. Pro football, college hoops, and college football are my games of choice. And I really enjoy playoff series gambling, both for pro basketball and baseball. And I'll usually take a few futures for team over unders in baseball, NBA, and NFL, and division winner stuff against the odds in the NFL.
For whatever reason though I just haven't gotten into the daily fantasy stuff yet at all.

I am in four leagues. One I commish for $40, two I found on yahoo for $100 each, and a fourth that's free between my brother and some of our friends, but when you start playing DFL's, you tend to stop caring about your season long adventures.
Next year I will probably only play one season long league and spend the rest of my betting budget on DK. It really does change your Sundays.

That stinks.
My step-brother and I went in 50/50 in a $300 DK weekly league. 3750 entries, 740th and up (so top ~20%) double their money, in increments up to 100th ($1000), to 10th ($10,000) with the winner netting $150,000.
I'm pretty pumped about our chances, and I like the team this week more than last week, where I bet $33 in assorted cheapo leagues and won $68. We're that confident.
Wish me luck.

How do you do it, I was in 3 last year and it was a terrible experience. I'm back down to 2, but I think 1 is ideal and 2 is manageable.
This is my first year with three, and I'm really not enjoying it. I spend almost every Tuesday night like clockwork doing an hours worth of roster maintenance and looking at the waiver wire. On top of everything else, two of the leagues are in Yahoo, and one is in ESPN.
The ESPN league is friends and guys from work. It's the league I'm most socially active with.
The second league is the one I care about, it's a thousand dollar buy in. This is my third season. The unique thing is that we do a live pen and paper draft. I've finished second both seasons I've been in it. But other than one guy, I really don't know anyone else in the league (other than the fact that I know them now through the league for a few years, and I have become pretty friendly with a few of them).
The third league is run by the same guy, a guy I've gotten friendly with, and it's 100 dollar buy in. They call it the JV league, and it's basically a clump of guys from the same circle who either can't or don't want to spend a thousand bucks on a fantasy league, but they want to play, so this guy runs this second league. I got asked to join because they needed a tenth guy, and the fella who runs it knows that I pay and that I'll at least pay attention all year.
I don't think I'd do it again. Inevitably every game on Sunday has guys I have in one league who are against me in another, and frankly I've just stopped paying attention until the day is over.

I'm in four leagues now, with three of them being cash leagues ($100, $100, $40), but I have slowly started to care less and less about my season long leagues (although I am 3-0, 2-1, 2-1, and 1-2 with solid lineups, my 1-2 league having Foster/Bell and most of my others have some combination of Foster/Dez) and tend to focus more on the Daily leagues for the exact reason I bolded above.
I tend to not pay attention to season long leagues because I am in so many, its too hard to know who to cheer for and who not to, so on Sundays I cheer for my daily teams and then at the end of the night, see what I need on Monday to win my season long leagues.

Yes, you will win some money on this website, but you will never win "the big one".
Like already stated by others, number of users suddenly jumps in huge numbers few mins before a contest starts.
I believe they add their own lineups and adjust players during the contest as no user is going to go thru over 90,000+ lineups to check on this.
Usually the winners will have players in their lineups nobody has any business knowing their names but happened to perform that week. It is impossible for me to believe somebody actually put those players in their lineup.
You will never win against an online website that can see your cards (your lineups), but you cannot see it's cards.

Right, like I said, my step-brother (the one I am in the $300 lobby up ^^ there) won first place ($11,250) on a $1 bet in PGA fantasy on DraftKings less than six months ago.
Maybe the game riggers forgot about that one.
In that ONE lobby (the one I'm in), the website is making almost $800,000 in cash after awarding the payouts, I don't think they'd try and rig the games and risk destroying their reputation to cheat. $800,000 off one lobby. Think about that for a second.

Read what I wrote in the edit.
DK makes millions upon millions every weekend. I highly, highly doubt they would go so far as to cheat to make MORE and risk their reputation.
In the one lobby I am in, there is $1,125,000 in the pot, and about $400,000 in prize payouts, meaning they keep $800k. You think they're gonna cheat to win an extra $10k?
Investors have put in over $100,000,000, so to risk being shut down for 10 or 20 or 50k seems incredibly stupid.

It's distinctly possible the jump in entries isn't from the league but from a gambling firm, like the one Haralobis Vargolis runs, that has created some kind of a bot that can spit out multiple permutations after all last minute information has been handed out to the public.
I have no real knowledge of this, but it certainly comes to mind as something that would be possible if one had the resources. The really good guys are always ahead of the curve.

Only the top 1.3 percent of players finished in the green during the three months measured by the Sport Business Journal.
That makes me elite then, seeing as I brought in +$600 last NFL season. I don't use anything other than a few sites that track fantasy stats, and a whole lot of time watching the games.
Most people probably go for the huge millionaire prizes, but I found playing 10 50/50 $10 games and making money is a lost easier than playing 1 $100 game. Gotta know how to play. And when to play, as I don't play every week and if I do, a lot of the time it's with smaller amounts.

Yeah, the article says that the NFL has helped to drive suckers into MLB games. Basically, people get a taste of daily fantasy on NFL Sundays and get impatient so they try some MLB games and get destroyed. :lol

I could likely crush it out in the hoops one. The only real problem is the amount of time involved. My time is worth at least $50/hour so unless I'm getting a $100 return daily it's not especially worth it (I usually spent 2 hours on fanduel a day when I did it for a week).
How do bots dominate the little guys? I felt, at least at the lower levels, it was pretty easy to finish in the money for those daily tournaments (e.g., buy in for $1 pay out depends on how you place).
The only real way I messed up was when there were random last second injuries or DNP's (Klay's DNP dominated me cuz i decided to go big that day).
All I did was use Excel to figure out the best money to production guys and bet one tournament with that and one tournament with best money production guys + my judgement about who is going to crush it that day based on my understanding of hoops (e.g., Dwight against weak frontcourt = hella rebounds).

How do bots or at least the proper term for me is a 'program' help? It helps, without insider information, is the program can set numerous combinations of lineups at your disposal. In 5 minutes, a program can give me 20 different lineup combinations. I can either enter all 20 or pick and choose the best one.
You can write the script in numerous ways.
What it took you 2 hours to research, I can do it in 5 minutes with a program and then use my judgement to confirm the program's script. That is the only advantage I see.
It won't help you win but it gives you a huge advantage by cutting research time.

There are websites that will optimize your lineup for free, once a week.
Anyone want to play in a $20 league? 12 players, top 3 pay out, winner takes home $108.
Started off as me and my brother going H2H but its ballooned into a 4 player league, then a 10 player league, and for some reason my other brother wanted to take it to 12 players this week. Do it every week for $20 now.

There are websites that will optimize your lineup for free, once a week.
Which one?
Biggest difficulty with things like DK is trying to choose a lineup. There are simply so many players to choose from. I'm considering creating a basic program that I can insert players in there in text format and it spits out different lineups.
I'm just not sure if i could find a text list that has a list of players playing a certain week along with a listing of their draft cost on DK. Draft cost changes every week. If i could get access to it in text format every week, it would be pretty straight forward.
It is possible to create a javascript program that pulls the data directly off the DK website but I don't know javascript..

Last week the 'optimal' lineup they had finished with around 160 or so, and that was with Matthew Stafford throwing three picks and getting benched in the third quarter. That website, once you're signed up, will give you an 'optimal' lineup once a week. So far, it has been pretty solid.
I dont use it player for player, but I do find some good combinations of guys to use.
If you can somehow use the DK cost, and use the fantasy information from a website like junkyardjake.com (the website I use to compare players, defenses, see pass targets, etc.), you may have something.

Well, for example, on fantasy pros I do the 'optimal draft kings lineup'. I then look at the projected score for their optimal lineup. I then compare it to my own. If they're pretty close, I'm satisfied with what I chose.
I think the optimal lineup this week is projected 154 or so; my lineup is projected at 153.85.
But I use it to see what their numbers tell them are good plays, plus consensus experts, and then I just combine that with what I see when I watch the games.
My lineup this week is:
Dalton
Foster
Freeman
Hopkins
Edelman
Snead
Donnell
Lewis
Jets D
I like to overspend on my WRs generally. It's PPR scoring. I want the guys I know will have the ball to them 10-12 times a game. Edelman in Indy against a horrid secondary? Yes please. Hopkins is a gamble, hes been great but hasnt found the red zone. I think he can against the Jags and still snag 100 yards if the Texans dont bulldoze them on the ground (why I have Foster). Then I like goaline backs. Foster and Freeman won't be replaced in the red zone, against shitty run defenses. Foster also had 25 last week his second game back and suffering aa (not)concussion. Lewis is an exception, because he catches a lot of passes, and he's relatively cheap with a high floor. Snead is improving, you should know from last week, and the Saints are going to have to throw it, a lot. Bennett doesn't have a super high ceiling, but he has a nice floor. I'll take 12-15 from him (6 catches, 60 yards). A TD is just a bonus. And then Jets D is cheap, and are second only to Denver.
Just the way I thought this week. Not too in love with it, but I'm sure everyone says that every week.

If they just gave you $600 bonus dollars, I'd have 10,000 accounts.
Casinos will do the same thing. Give you 'free' money but you have to play through it several times.
If you play all year and never win or lose, at the end of the year you will have $600 more dollars than you started with.

1) You earn it based on how often you play. If you play in enough games, they will give you your $600 bonus.
$200 entry fee – 550 FPP
$109 entry fee – 360 FPP
$27 entry fee – 108 FPP
$1 entry fee – 4 FPP
$5,300 entry fee – 8,000 FPP
If you don't know exactly what you are doing, I would start by playing low end 50/50's. I usually play 10-15 $10 50/50's per week. That will give you your points fairly quickly. Your bonus will be deposited into your account as you play, but you won't know it. You'll go to sleep with $300 and wake up with $305.
2) Never seen that before. If so, its because on one lobby I played in ($300 buy-in), the rake was about $1.5m. That's one lobby. So, they can afford to do that sort of thing.
ok thx that explains it more clearly. i already entered like 6 contests but it sucks it goes by the entry fee's.
it was for a friends contest he started where theres like 10 people at $20 entry but prize in total is like over $400 or more. maybe its assuming every slot gets filled then....:confusedshrug:
i'm a roto guru. i really think i'm going to be a beast at this :pimp:
and honestly i wish they gave you less money for the salary cap so you were forced into picking more sleeper scrubs. thats the way i thought it was going to be but ii can surprisingly afford a lot of higher end players at every slot.
