Hey Yo

"Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert recently suffered a ruptured Extensor Carpi Ulnaris sheath in his right wrist. The extent of the injury was confirmed by MRI at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health yesterday by Dr. Thomas Graham and Dr. Richard Parker. Shumpert will have surgery to repair his wrist Wednesday at Cleveland Clinic. His return to play is currently projected to be 12 to 14 weeks.

Losing Shumpert is a big blow for the Cavs but it would have been a lot more dire had they not re-signed J.R. Smith.

Wow. Love and Kyrie were expected to miss the beginning of the season and now Shump added to the list. Only LBJ and last years Nuggets backup C remain. The fact that they are still favorites to cakewalk to the Finals speaks to just how highly the world thinks of LeBron.

LeBron was actually playing really good defense last year. Nothing like the coast-job 2014 season.

Meh, will make it harder to get the #1 seed, but won't change the fact that the Cavs are heavy favorites to win the East.

2011 - Wade injured in Game 5 of the Finals
2012 - Bosh missed half the playoffs, Wade hobbled
2013- Wade playing on one knee
2014 - Entire team was aging old, exhausted
2015 - No Kyrie and no Kevin Love
2016- Shumpert injured
Yet he's still expected to win in the finals? :lol

Oh man, so you're telling me that they'll have to start a former all star pg who dropped 50 last season, a former 6th man of the year, a 7 foot monster rim protector, and arguably the best offensive rebounder in the league, alongside Bran? Then have Dellevedova, who made the league MVP look average during the finals, coming off the bench?
Tough times for Cavs fans.
Let me pour one out for you.
The Sixers should win more games than that weak Cavs team. It's disgusting that a pro team would trot out such a lineup. People are paying hard earned money to get tickets to this!

As long as he's healthy in the playoffs. They still have JR Smith. And maybe Sir Domnick Pointer can make it into the team.

Opening Day Lineup:
PG: Backup PG from team with worst record in NBA last season
SG: Cast away backup from NYK who had worst record in the NBA when they traded him. Was a UFA until the last month. No one wanted him.
SF: LeBron James
PF: Career backup who was all but worthless coming off the bench for a team that never went to the playoffs. Never had a positive WAR, RAPM, even DRAPM until he played with LeBron. Now he refuses to sign 5/80M deal in backup role.
C: Avg 25mpg for 7th worst team in NBA so they could make room for rookie big
Scraps from the worst team in the NBA, the 2nd worst team in NBA, and 7th worst team in NBA just last season. And one non-descript bench big.
Seriously, stop. If they are healthy they have a ton of talent. But this group will likely NEVER be healthy.

Love said he's expected to be ready for opening night...opening night lineup will probably be this...
Mozgov/Varejao
Love/Thompson
LeBron/Jefferson
Smith/Delly
Williams/Delly
Also don't forge James Jones is back and we got a new Sasha Kaun.

They're still the favorites to cakewalk through the East because (1) it is assumed all of these guys are going to be coming back at some point relatively early in the season and (2) a few months ago they swept their way through the ECF with Kyrie playing on one leg and no Kevin Love or Anderson Varejao. Shumpert was also playing very hurt by the time the Finals came around.
It only makes sense that they'd be heavy favorites again. It is actually pretty highly unlikely that the Cavs have as many injury problems this season as they did last season. Three of their five starters at the beginning of the season were ruled out for the season at some point before the Finals were done.
Remember, the Cavs were fully healthy to start last season. They ended up being totally plagued by injury.
This season, they're coming in banged up. We'll see how they look come playoff time. Drawing too much out of the way things look in September and October is being a bit shortsighted.

Corey Brewer and Tony Delk once scored 50 in a reg. season game.

Their services were highly sought on down the line..

As a Cavs fan, I was just as passionate when they were trotting out Alonzo Gee and Earl Clark in the starting lineup. I'm not going to apologize for finally having a very good, very deep team to root for ... one that still looks pretty formidable while suffering significant injury issues.
It is a little ironic, though, when those kinds of sarcastic posts are coming from a Boston sports fan toward a Cleveland team. Yeah, we certainly have a history of getting the deck stacked in our favor. If only a Boston franchise could be a championship contender for once. :oldlol:

Pretty arrogant statement.
Anyway, Tristian Thompson max contract incoming.
As now they have 3 certified prone starters: Irving, Love and Shumpert.
I don't care what essay response you come up, these 3 guys get injured REGULARLY throughout their career.
Now responsibility shifts to JR Smith - not a good thing.
Lebron's gonna need to take 16/17 off to rest, let alone an extra 2 months.

2011 - Wade injured in Game 5 of the Finals (Lebron played terrible)
2012 - Bosh missed half the playoffs, Wade hobbled (Wade put up 23 5 4 who cares if he was hobbled) Plus OKC was just too young at the time.
2013- Wade playing on one knee (Ray Allen Saved Lebron's legacy)
2014 - Entire team was aging old, exhausted (cool story bra)
2015 - No Kyrie and no Kevin Love (wouldn't have beaten Warriors with them.)
2016- Shumpert injured ( Will be back by Jan, shouldn't matter if he comes back healthy)
Yet he's still expected to win in the finals? :lol

Doubt he's out too long, and it's not a leg injury.
