so a physical attribute is his greatest asset

And I can't understand why other people keep on saying that midgets always guards MJ.
because the bigger defender can't catch up with him, but a smaller defender can stay with him but will still get destroyed on height difference

Idiots who think Steve Nash and Steph Curry winning MVPs = sign that wings are more dynamic now :lol
Jordan was guarded by plenty of guys 6'7"-'6'9" throughout his career (from DPOY Dennis Rodman in the 80s to DPOY Ron Artest in the 00s)
Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJO8yQ7Xxaw) he is putting it on 6'7" 270 lbs Anthony Mason when MJ was 35 years old.

Those guys aren't any better than the many defenders already shown itt, and neither holds a candle to DPOY and All-NBA defenders Rodman/Dumars.
MJ averaged 32 ppg on 47% for his career vs. those guys and averaged those same numbers in the 1989 and 1990 ecf vs. the "Jordan Rules".
The Jordan Rules (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIY_4vIxGEE&t=22m49s) were double-teams literally (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=386210) every single time he caught the ball, which is something no player ever faced before or since (other than Wilt).

Wade is only 6'4"... He's a shrimp next to MJ with a smaller bone structure.
MJ would shoot jumpers over Wade and bully him all day the same way he did All-NBA defender Bobby Phills, who was bigger and stronger than Wade.
And he'd use headfakes on Wade the same way as Phills in the gif above, because Wade is a block-happy 2-guard with poor defensive fundamentals.

Lebron wouldn't do any better vs. MJ than he did against Andre Igoudala, who is the same size as MJ and a worse defender.
And Iggy held Lebron to 30% shooting... Since MJ's a much better defender, how bad do you think Lebron shoots vs. MJ?... It's hard to get much worse tbh.
My guess is that since MJ would be scoring twice as much as Iggy, Lebron wouldn't have the energy to take anywhere near 33 shots per game or shoot 30% and his team would be summarily swept.

What stands out to me apart from the first step that obviously catches the defender off-guard, is how much distance he covers when he plants his left foot and take off. Most guys, in order to cover that kind of ground, need a running start and then jump off the one leg without gathering and let momentum carry them through the air. That just highlights the kind of versatility MJ had in jumping, he pretty much could jump explosively regardless of the situation. And this was like 33 year old MJ, not even the absolute peak of his athleticism.

the fact that iggy has bigger biceps but still weighs the same shows that MJ's bones are heavier, and his muscles superior/more tightly wound and explosive.. so therefore he's stronger - he can lean on Lebron and push him better.
and in a cage match, MJ wins the war of attrition because he doesn't have to use his muscles as much, which tire... MJ can just use his his natural, superior strength that's in his bones.. Plus his muscles are better anyway - more tightly wound and explosive like a cat.
the weight is what matters... not the bicep size... and the weight of MJ and Iggy is the same, while MJ is the much better defender... and MJ is definitely the better post defender - he had to guard the post every other possession, whereas Iggy almost never has to guard the post in today's game - not even against Lebron.

the fact that iggy has bigger biceps but still weighs the same as MJ shows that MJ's bones are heavier, and therefore he's stronger - he can lean on Lebron better and in a cage match, MJ has the advantage with the heavier bones..
MJ wins the war of attrition because he doesn't have to use his muscles as much, which tire... MJ can just use his his natural, superior strength that's in his bones.
the weight is what matters... not the bicep size... and the weight of MJ and Iggy is the same, while MJ is the much better defender... and MJ is definitely the better post defender - he had to guard the post every other possession, whereas Iggy almost never has to guard the post in today's game - not even against Lebron.
This may very well be the stupidest thing I've read all week.

how do you explain iggy having bigger biceps but still weighing the same?
it can only be because MJ has heavier bones and his muscles are superior/wound tighter, more explosive, like a cat.
what's your explanation for Iggy's bigger biceps, but equal weight?

Did it have 3 point shooting, though?

MJ wouldn't need it today any more than Wade needed it in 2009 when he led the NBA in scoring, or Westbrook this year.

I have bigger biceps, calves, triceps than everyone I work with. Those dudes really don't have much muscle definition at all, shit they're thin. One dude is a body builder but doesn't have any definition, my biceps, triceps and calves are bigger than his.
Yet they all weigh more than I do.
Also related to your argument, when I was young I was skinny. But I was a wiry strong dude, was as strong or stronger than people bigger than I was. I have good fast twitch muscles and a high metabolism. My weight actually fluctuates every week depending on how much I ate. I range from 157-165 (give or take).
Even at my heaviest (185) I was still faster and lighter on my feet than people 150 ish, even at 150 I was stronger than most people at 180.
TLDR... muscle mass/definition doesn't mean one is heavier or stronger.

Mj in this era is Kobe with less rings due to no shaq and pippen.

on the real though, MJ is probably a top-3 1-on-1 scorer.

Exactly, and in MJ's case, he weighs the same as Iggy despite having smaller biceps, so he has to make it up somewhere.
Accordingly, MJ either has heavier bones and/or his muscles are superior/wound-tighter/more efficiently constructed.
MJ's superior, tighter muscles explains why he's so much more explosive and QUICKER than Iggy... Btw, since I've brought up the topic of MJ's superior, more tightly-wound muscles allowing for more explosiveness/quickness, the haters have left the thread.

Iggy's lugging around a long shlong and a set of man balls. MJ didn't have that holding him back.

What does it move you to post about MJ everyday? I mean he was great and all but its a bit cringeworthy to watch you every single day just talking only and entirely about mj. Its like a clinical case.

Luckily for no skills Bron. Look what a broken down Bean did to him with a little old school full court handchecking:

Bron with handchecking allowed = homeless man's Grant Hill.

there just werent as many dynamic wings back then
List the guys in today's game that you think are "dynamic wings" and let's compare - i'll get you started:
Magic................... Lebron
Bird..................... Kobe
Dominique............ Durant
Clyde................... Wade
Penny.................. Westbrook
Grant Hill............. Harden
Pippen................. Leonard
Bernard King......... Carmelo
James Worthy........ Pierce
I didn't even need to use MJ, Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, Larry Nance, Sprewell, Reggie Lewis, Mitch Richmond, Ron Harper or Eddie Jones.. :confusedshrug:

MJ is the Greatest ever.
He is the greatest 1 on 1 wing iso player ever as well.
but the question is, why is lebron even in this discussion? he isnt exactly an "iso specialist"
Even though Jordan blows him (and lebron) out of the water in isos, Kobe would be a better comparison.

Steroids and training for vanity, not function.
This is an olympic lifter, the strongest, most explosive athletes in the world, who have mindboggling verticals:

No big bicep, no huge pectoralis muscles, just power and function.
