View Full Version : E-Ciggeretes / Vaping
We can use this thread for dry herb vaporizers as well, to prevent making another thread. I noticed a lot of us here are into weed, tobacco, etc. If you're looking for dry herb vaping, I know a great deal about it considering I've spent a massive amount of time researching.
There's two types of methods, convection and conduction. There are hybrids.
If you're also planning on doing wax/oils, say so. There are add-ons you can purchase to make this possible, but some vaporizers have this built in feature.
Some other add-ons include water bong attachments.
State your budget, your interests in a vape, and what you primarily want.
Some things to be aware of are:
-Vapor quality
-Efficiency
-Flavor
-Battery life
-Warranty/Customer service
Not a fan of hookah. One day after getting high my boy told me to vape from his mod or whatever. Strawberry flavored. Shit really tasted like strawberries and smelled like some authentic shit. I'm high asf, paranoid that he's probably giving me some other shit. The tank he used was "The Titan" or some shit. I'll update later what it was. It worked off an interchangeable big ass battery.
I'm actually interested in one just to do at home. I'm aware it has nicotine in the flavors something I'd probably want to avoid right? (never smoked ciggs)
What's a good starter to purchase? How much would it be? What about mods and tanks?
(Not familiar with the terminology much, spare me)
The one he had, produced great taste and clouds
I know, I'd probably get flamed about Vaping being for *****, but drop your knowledge.
Edit: here's the one he had http://www.vaportechonline.com/the-titan.php
He used it with a mutation xV4

High and paranoid doesn't happen with e-ciggs man. He gave you some MJ or synthetic MJ (I hope not)

From experience, e cigs and vaping got really popular where I lived in Philly. a lot of international East Asian kids used it. Walking behind them wasn't as bad as walking behind someone smoking cigarettes. The smell is way more pleasant and leaves unique good smells like hookah. I don't really smoke so I've never tried them but people don't really get annoyed by it as much as walking behind someone smoking a cigarette and blowing it up or to the side which ends up going into your face -_-

After I got high from weed, I vaped
Don't use e-cigs.
Had a friend have one blow up in his mouth. Blew his teeth out, burnt a hole in his mouth.

Yeah, I've heard of crazy stories of e-vaping messing with the inside of your mouth a lot more than a normal cigarette would. I remember the people who used to live next door used to smoke an e-cig on the porch and sometimes I would walk outside later and smell like strawberries ahah. I didn't really mind it but he admitted he's pretty paranoid using them although he uses it daily.

I use the PEAK O pen...
http://uploads.medicaljane.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/open2_hd.png
No button pushing or heat settings....just take a hit and it automatically turns on.
Note: This is an oil pen ( you can order many different flavors some have a higher% of THC....I mostly burn the AK - 47 at 70% THC)
these are really convenient for traveling or trying to be discrete, ( size of stylus pen) and the oil burns with a very low odor.
You can purchase these newer ones for about 40 - 60$ online....( not including the oil.....which has to be ordered through a Medicinal office....around 60$ per cartridge)
i dont get this.. did you get high of an E-Cig?
Off of weed. But afterwards he gave me an ecigg to vape off of
And I don't want to smoke Ciggeretes. I enjoyed the flavor of what I got out of it. It was unusual for me and I did hookah before and this blown it out the water which got me interested
Dam. I have a dry herb vape for weed. I get paranoid using this shit.
He had the expensive kind too, like +$200.
The top half blew off and went through the head rest of his car after he just got done taking a hit.
Had he still had it in his mouth, it would have shot out the backside of his neck.
8 teeth. Bone grafts. Broken jaw. Broken nose. Burns on his face. Giant hole in the roof of his mouth. He has PTSD now, and seizures.
Yeah, I stick to the real thing.

Do you know if his mod was regulated or unregulated? With a regulated mod, this kind of thing doesn't usually happen. With an unregulated mech mod (like the one OP's friend has), you've gotta be REAL careful about the battery capabilities. If you use a tank on a mech, or if you use a low drain battery, you're going to short out the battery and possibly cause it to vent.....Leading to the carnage you described. I prefer the regulated ones for this reason. If a short, or battery issue is detected, it'll simply refuse to fire.
OP, I'm pretty into it, but not a douche about it. If you have any questions about it, like mod recommendations, I can definitely point you in the right direction.

Not sure, but he had a standard, $200 e-cig. Hadn't been tampered with, all the pieces and serial #'s matched. He's been speaking with lawyers for probably 3 months now. Just now being able to eat solid food.
Apparently, it's not all that uncommon. The makers of one of the parts no longer has a website, if that tells you anything.

The problem is, any shmuck can open up a vape shop and let people walk out of there with a mix of parts that'll lead to a pipe bomb. Or people go online and order parts online without reading up on it. Sure, these stories happen. But the vast majority I've seen are due to user error. Which is why I'm offering to answer any questions for the OP just in case he's considering getting one.

How much is this one? Does wattage matter? 30W-100W? The battery is built in, so what happens when the battery gets weak? Purchase an entirely new ecigg? Can you put tanks on this for bigger clouds or better taste? Coils? etc.

Crazy. Been friends with him since we were in middle school. He was in the USMC with me, except he was a UAV pilot. Worked for Boeing and was scheduled to fly to Iraq for a job for them, and then POW his teeth are all over the floorboard.

I paid more for it because I bought it from a brick and mortar shop. But you can get it online for about $35. The batteries on this particular mod aren't built in...you need two 18650 rechargeable batteries that can be charged inside the mod via USB, or with an external battery charger. I chose Samsung 25R batteries, as they're considered the standard for safety. About $10 each online. You'll need a juice tank ($30-$50 depending on which kind you get)and some atomizers. Or, if you want to get more advanced, you can go the same route your friend did and get a rebuildable deck like his Mutation. They're a PITA though, as you have to repeatedly drip juice directly onto the cotton as opposed to being in a tank.
Higher watts lets you vape lower resistance coils. The lower the resistance (in ohms), the higher cloud density and taste quality.
It's certainly not cheaper than cigarettes. As far as safety goes, when properly done, it's undoubtedly safer than cigarette smoke. How much safer? We don't really know yet. Time will tell. I just prefer to vape so I don't smell like an ashtray every time I light up, and the taste isn't even comparable.

That's insane, first time I've ever heard of happening to anyone, never even thought that an ecig could explode. I smoke reg cigs, recently finally switched from menthol (DON'T smoke em on the daily, don't do it) to no.27s and was eventually thinking of switching to an ecig and then from an ecig to hookah pen, thus cutting down on my nicotine intake but especially get away from smoking everyday. This makes me rethink my whole theory.

I actually went from 27's to menthols to now just black and milds.
You can google pictures of e-cig explosion, and see what kind of damage it can do. Interiors of cars just melted down. I guess the battery gets overheated or some shit.

I googled it instantly, shit is crazy. Also really unsafe to leave your ecig in the car, especially on a hot day. Seems like that's how most explosions happen.
Menthols were always my fav (NXT) and I still like to have 1 or 2 after a good ass smoke sesh, but I noticed that I breath much easier now that I switched to 27 and cough out much less phlegm. I'd probably breath better if I stopped smoking completely buuut :oldlol:

Nah. I want to avoid all that bs with cotton and coils. So, break this down like I'm 5 years old. There's so much to it and my brains about to explode from all the shit I've read this weekend for my midterm.
$35 for that vape box thing (What is it called?)
$30+ more for a juice tank (Is this the drip tank? Do any drip tanks work or do I need to pay attention to threading like 510 threading, etc?)(Which juice tanks do you recommend)
Atomizers (Wtf is that again? And how much? Which do you recommend)
Are there any coils in that box vape thing? Or is that what the Atomizer is for?
Where do you get the juice from? How much is the juice? How long are they good for without spoiling if they do go bad?
Will this set up explode in my face? How often do we need to buy new batteries if we continue to recharge the same ones?

This is going to be way too much information in one shot. You'll be much better off going to a vape shop and having them explain it all to you in person, but since you asked, I'll try to break it down for you.

$35 for that vape box thing (What is it called?)
The "vape box" is more accurately called a mod. The mod contains your batteries, which can be either removable or nonremovable. Both can usually be charged with USB, both some mods that have removeable batteries require a separate charger. If you have a regulated box, it'll also contain a circuit board that lets you adjust some settings and will shut off the mod if it detects something unsafe. The newer ones have an LCD screen that will let you choose your wattage, depending on the resistance of your coils. (I'll break this down later.) An unregulated (or mechanical) mod is usually just a tube with a battery hole in it.
$30+ more for a juice tank (Is this the drip tank? Do any drip tanks work or do I need to pay attention to threading like 510 threading, etc?)(Which juice tanks do you recommend)
The tank is a glass vial that holds your juice. Usually comes in 3ml-5ml sizes, depending on the brand. As a rule of thumb, only use tanks on regulated devices. There are tons of tanks you can use, and we could literally talk about them for hours. Most have disposable atomizers that you can buy, and some have decks on them that lets you build your own coils with kanthal. I'd highly recommend using the disposable atomizers at first.
Some advanced users don't go the tank route. They'll buy an RDA deck (Rebuildable Drip Atomizer) that has positive/neutral terminals where you screw in custom built kanthal coils stuffed with cotton inside. You literally have to drip juice onto the coils every 4 or 5 hits though, or the cotton can dry and catch fire. So don't do this. Get a tank, get some disposable atomizers and start from there.
Atomizers (Wtf is that again? And how much? Which do you recommend)
Are there any coils in that box vape thing? Or is that what the Atomizer is for?
Atomizers (or coils) are cotton-wrapped coils that are housed in a metal housing that will screw into your tank. The housing is proprietary, so you can only fit the atomizers that are made for your tank. The cotton soaks up the juice inside of the tank, and the coils heat up the juice soaked cotton, which gives you the vapor. The coils are rated by their resistance, or ohms if you remember Ohms Law. In general, the lower the ohms, the higher wattage you'll need from your battery. The lower the ohms, the more flavor and vapor you get. Most tank companies make a few different ohm coils that you can choose to tailor your needs. A 5 pack'll run you $20, and one coil should last you a week of moderate use.
Where do you get the juice from? How much is the juice? How long are they good for without spoiling if they do go bad?
Either a vape shop, or online. Vape shops usually carry a selection of juices that they make, which are usually cheaper. Or you can go the premium route, and buy mass produced juice, which is pricier. I won't say which is better, because I've had some great house juice, and some shitty "premium" juice. They're good for a few months if you keep them out of the sun and in cool temperatures. There will usually be a "PG/VG" ratio on the label, which are the two main ingredients in juice. Higher PG gives you more flavor, and a harsher throat hit. Higher VG is much smoother, but less flavor, and more clouds. I prefer zero throat hit and bigger clouds, so i usually go with a 20/80 ratio. Vapergate is my favorite brand of juice, if you're curious.
Will this set up explode in my face? How often do we need to buy new batteries if we continue to recharge the same ones?
You should really ask somebody that can go into more detail before you spend your own money, but here's an option:
http://www.myvaporstore.com/Kangertech-SUBOX-Nano-Starter-Kit-Black-p/krsbl1.htm
It's a regulated mod that comes with a tank and two atomizers with different resistances so you can find which one suits you. The mod will let you adjust your wattage levels to the range that is printed on each atomizer. All you'd need is a battery to put inside the mod (Get the Samsung 25R) and some juice, and you're good to go. That's a great setup for tasting the flavor of the juice.
But, I can't stress this enough. Make sure you talk to someone who has been doing it for a while before you buy or use anything. As said in the thread, shit can go wrong if you go about it the wrong way. Go to a vape shop, go on vaping forums, and take in the information little by little. I've bought mods that I outgrew in two weeks, but better to waste a little bit of money than putting a hole in your face.

Yeah peach or strawberry would probably be cool. They are good flavors for blunts so it would probably vape well.
I think they are all different. I want to say I have tried one that is like room temperature when you hit it and others were colder.
I for one, never taste the flavor in blunts. That, and the flavor in weed either.

People always act like they are healthier than regular cigs, but part of that is likely due to not having decades of research showing how bad they are.

Exactly. They do smell much more pleasant. It's like a walking hookah (which is real bad. I think smoking hookah more than twice a week is as bad as smoking a pack a day, I actually knew people who did this in HS and college).

It's definitely regulated, so you're good so far. Feel free to drop me a PM with the details if you don't want to post them here.

Wow, you guys are spending a lot of money on this.
I got a Juul at a gas station a couple months ago. It's $50 for the e-cig and 4 vapor refills. Replacement vapor cartridges are about 4 for $20. 1 cartridge is about equivalent to 1 pack of smokes.
The vapor is better than you'd expect.
I would never spend $200 for some weird complicated thing you have to turn on. You simply take a drag and it turns on automatically. It looks like and is about the size of one of those old usb drives, so you can have it on your desk at work and no one will notice.
I just wish I were more certain this thing won't give me cancer. I'm suspicious of the vapor. It could have anything in it and I wouldn't know. What does that shit look like when it dries?

I can't speak for the disposables, as we really don't have any clue as to what is in them. I've talked to several vape shop owners that make juice for the refillable vapes, and it's usually:
Propylene Glycol: Usually food grade. It's an oil that you find in most asthma inhaler solutions. It's a good carrier for the flavor of the juice, as it's an odorless/tasteless compound. I tend to stay away from high PG concentrated juice, as it can be harsh on the throat and can dehydrate you. A lot of ex smokers like it to mimic the throat hit that cigarettes give you.
Vegetable Glycerin: Usually pharmaceutical grade. You can find it in any pharmacy, as it is used for lubrication and sweetening of food (and e-juice). I've used it to heal chapped lips, on top of vaping it. It's very mellow in the throat and lungs, and it gives off a ton of vapor when used in an e-cig.
Nicotine and flavorings make up the rest of the formula. The flavoring is the part where I start to raise an eyebrow. While they've been ruled safe for consumption, not much has been done regarding its effect on the lungs. Some "organic" juice companies claim they use concentrates of the actual flavor itself, but I don't know enough about them to really comment one way or another. Ideally, around 5% of the total juice composition should consist of flavoring.
Bump. Done some intensive research and found that I'm never touching an unregulated mod without more knowledge enough to properly secure safety.
With that said, I'm looking into regulated box mods, preferably the sigelei brand and specifically the 100wt models. I'm going to head the the local vape shops and see more about it. I'm not sold on the changing of the coils every three weeks or so, and the cotton every two to three days or every day, but that's fine.
Anyone have any experience with the sigelei 50/75/100/150/200wt models?
Favorite ejuice?
Any alternatives to using cotton?
Sites/places that sell premade coils?
Tanks?

Tanks?
1) You'll overpay a ton if you get it from a local vape shop. I'm all for paying a little bit more to suport a local small business, but they're notorious for marking up prices on mods and tanks. Go to myvaporstore.com and order it there. For Sigeleis, you'll pay half of what the shops are charging.
2) Sigeleis are great. Pretty much the gold standard for regulated mods at this point. I'd read into temperature control and consider getting it with your mod. It lets you really customize the temperature of the vapor, and it'll be less strenuous on your coils.
3) The Sigelei is just the battery, you'll need to buy a tank as well. If you get a common one, most local vape shops will carry replacements. Since you're getting a high wattage device, go for tanks that support sub-ohming. That's when the resistance (measured in ohms) of the coils is less than 1.0. It'll let you use higher wattage settings, which will increase the flavor and vapor production. For example, I have a UWell Crown tank because they make .25 ohm resistance coils that let me vape at 80-100 watts. They make .5 and 1.5 for lower wattages too, so you can work your way up. A single coil lasts me about a week with pretty regular usage. These are all pre-built coils I'm talking about, by the way. It comes with the coil and cotton together. Stick to those for now, unless you have someone who can walk you through the process of building your own.
3) Juice is going to be all on you. Get a higher VG mix so you don't irritate your throat, but the taste is pretty subjective. My favorite line is Vapergate, which isn't cheap, but it's really smooth. They make a fruit punch blend called "Donkey," formerly known as Donkey Punch. Cuttwood is another great line too. Velvet Cloud uses all organic ingredients, which makes pretty refreshing juice.

For the premade coils, it's not too hard to put on right? I seen videos and all you really need is to cut them. Where do I get the tools to cut the coils?
Is that website 100% legit?
Do local vape shops charge for putting the coils? If so what range?
I don't mind using the cotton, cleaning it and replacing cotton doesn't seem hard, the dry burn and wash technique is simple. It's the coils that needs to be changed will be a little hard at first.
What Gages do you recommend, and now many? (Single, dual, quad)
If I didn't want to use cotton, what's the alternative? The tank? What tank should I purchase? Is mutation xv4 a tank? I used it before on my friends mech mod (the titan tank) and it blew crazy clouds and taste. How often do I need for replace tanks if I would and why would I need to given the reason?
If I get coils and a tank that supports sub ohm vaping (0.2-0.5) I won't be restricted to let's say, vape at 100-150wts?
How safe is the regulated box mods (sigelei)
Thanks man. I just want this to get my boy to lay off weed too much, pretty much lure him in. He vapes weed like I do, but he's a daily user. I need it too, to just lay off it as well from every week to probably every two weeks. Just destress, I won't be using nicotine.
Edit: So far, it's down to the one you have the iStick eLeaf 100wt (cheap & affordable) and the Sigelei 100wt plus. If you don't mind telling me your exact set up too. Do you recommend the one you have?
iStick 100wt (Price: $48.99 Sale Price: $35.95)
vs
Sigelei 100W Plus (Price: $150.25 Sale Price: $72.95)
+ Aspire Triton 2
+ Trustfire Dual Charger
+ IMR 18650 3000mAh
My best bet would go for the iStick, same power for around $40, save money, perhaps update later on (was trying to prevent upgrading later on by doing a good purchase now, but the power is the same and should be enough) I see people are moving towards temperature control. With that said, I also see people discussing regulated mods are now powerhouses and is sweeping unregulated mods.
If I purchase the iStick 100wt, whatever tank/coils/ accecories should work on whatever upgraded box mod I later purchase as long as it has a 510 threading correct?
Does the tanks come with coils?(Answered: Yes, it comes with 1 coil) I'm looking at the Aspire Triton 2 tank. With the tank, is this the trip the juice in the "tank" and the coils burn causing vape? Or, does it drip into the cotton and is then vaped? What is the alternative to not using cotton? Would I be able to use the Aspire Triton 2 (or any other tank) without using cotton?
I heard IMR batteries are the way to go.
Should I go with the Trustfire dual charger for a cheap charger?
You got to tell me if I'm on the right track.. lol, there's a crazy learning curve.
Edit: did some research and most of my questions are answered. You can feel free to answer to reassure me.
As of now I'm getting the istick Eleaf 100wt
I researched battery safety.
I'm leaning towards the rda rather than tanks
Mutation xv4
Do you prefer rda or tanks?
What charger do you recommend?
Should I buy a multimeter to test battery's or the regulated mod will be fine without it?
I learned a shit load.
Bump.
My preferred budget is $100, but my absolute max would be $200.
I want something durable, compact, and sleek (something I could carry around and public and people wouldn't know it's a vaporizer).
For context, are you living a household where family/members of the household are against the substance or a dorm?
Here are your choices. I'll be using the most reliable online store and everyone's favorite when it comes to customer support/warranty/extra free gifts they provide in a bundle & coupons puffitup.com (ask for Randy if any issues with anything, he's absolutely amazing)

The following brand (Arizer) is a one up from the past two I mentioned. They build durable, excellent devices (Solo/Air/Extreme Q) and are known for being WORK HORSES. The price range for them are $250+ but, on puffitup.com with the coupon code you can get it for $169 (AIR)
Since you mentioned stealth, the Arizer AIR is the slimmer, sleeker, and more portable version of its brother the SOLO. It comes with removable batteries, a glass stem that you put in or out. You'll use this for YEARS. It's recognized in the vaporizer community for dry herb to be as the most bang for the buck. It provides vapor quality and excellent taste. The glass mouth piece can be changed for other variations, also wood stems. Also, you can use the glass stem in milk to clean it and use as an edible. Let it soak for 10-20 mins in it.

Continued @Angel
Next, is the PAX. It's well known for it's stealth factor. It's beautiful, small, sleek, look. It's a pain in the ass to clean. I've used the PAX 1 from my friend, it's good. There's more resistance to your pull, so you find yourself pulling harder (and longer) for hits. Unless you just cleaned it, you'll find hits a bit less hard to pull. It's expensive. Head to head vs the Arizer Solo/Air, it loses in taste, vapor quality, and efficiency. The Air/Solo is a hybrid, while the PAX is a conduction based vaporizer. If 100% stealth is what you want, less of a work horse, doesn't have removable batteries but can last 1-3 hours (after a year or two the battery becomes 1/2 hours of use) and a 10-year warranty (which be aware, you need to buy from a pax authorized dealer and I believe you need to provide your SSN to them). You'll find yourself cleaning this 10-15 minutes at a time every 5-8 sessions. The PAX 2 is out of your price range, so the PAX 1 will be all you. It's a great device all around, but you're paying a mark up for stealth and looks, not for quality and performance. You're also using more herb in the oven (it has a big oven compared to the rest of the devices) to prevent using more herb, there's a screen trick. Place another screen in the oven, bend it, and it'll heat up the herb evenly. Easy to do.
PAX 1 - $199 PAX 2 is $279.99

I'd suggest any of the ones I mentioned. It's a toss up. But know, the Arizer Air is your best choice. It's up to you, if you'd like to spend a few more dollars for quality, efficiency, taste in the Air, or stay back at $80-$100 in the flowermate or xmax v2 pro which are NOT bad at all. It's just knowing that you'd enjoy it so much, in the next few months or so you'd wish you put down on something better that excels what you have.
My choices given $200 max?
Arizer Air.
Out of the flowermate series (there's a mini version too) or the xmax? I'd flip a coin. Flowermate doesn't have removable batteries (unless it's the pro)
Flowermate Pro - $160
Temperature range 104-446F (40-230c)
Digital Display
Ceramic Heating Chamber
Efficient Conductive Heating
5 Diffused Air Jets
Pyrex Glass Mouthpiece
2 Samsung/LG 2600mAh Batteries
10+ Sessions Per Charge
1500 Draws per Charge
2-3 Hour Battery Life
Complete Control
The Flowermate V5 Pro offers an expansive temperature range of 104-446F (40-230C). Temperature settings are controlled via the digital OLED display and can be adjusted in single digit increments.
Easy to Use
Rapidly press the power button 5 times within 2 seconds to power on the V5 Pro; it begins heating automatically. Press the + and - buttons if you wish to change the temperature.
5 minutes after being activated the Pro will automatically go into an idle state. Simply hold down the power button for a few seconds to reactivate the heater.
To turn the vaporizer completely off press the power button 5 times in quick succession; the same way it is turned on.
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/922/h6QnoJ.jpg (https://imageshack.com/i/pmh6QnoJj)
But, I wouldn't spend $160 on the Flowermate Pro when I can get the Arizer Air at $169.
There are your choices.

Lol. ****in losers.
The XMAX V2 PRO and Arizer Air are the ones I'm gonna be looking around for at local vaporizer shops. I really like the XMAX, but if I can find the Arizer on a sale then I'd go for it.
Thank You El Drazo
Get the XMAX V2 PRO over the Air if the AIR is over $200 (which listed price would be somewhere around $269
<200 get the Air
for $80 get the XMAX v2 PRO
Here's a little review of it
Third and Final Round of Testing (Normal Use Test)
Fully charged, fully filled with herb (light tamp down): Worked unit by hitting at each level, turning off and on as I see fit after 4 full 5 minute sessions.
- Each temp level performed well. Highest temp level doesn't cause combustion.
- Taste/Smell - Average to Good compared to the MFLB/Solo. Burn-offs rid the unit smell due to electrical components. Mouthpiece is the issue with smell/taste. After 3 hours of giving the mouthpiece an ISO bath with several hot water rinses where the ISO itself was replaced, mouthpiece smell/taste is barely there. The tastiness of the herb is coming through better than the MFLB and just below the Solo. Subsequent hits are smooth and much better than the MFLB but not quite as good as the Solo. Vapor draw heat didn't become uncomfortable for me till the highest temp. Average to good clouds.
- Herb Efficiency - Equivalent to MFLB and Solo. No complaints. ABV is dark brown and is even throughout.
- Learning Curve - I got used to the buttons quickly. Note: I've seen references to how the lights work when heating being backwards. Mine blinks when heating and goes solid after reaching the desired temp like the Solo.
- Functionality - Once filled the X-Max V2 Pro is one convenient unit to use and I would rate this aspect higher than my Solo/MFLB. Cleaning and filling requires more effort than the MFLB/Solo but isn't bad at all. Once the reclaim starts in earnest its obvious it will require more attention/effort to keep clear. The inconsistency of the button response is concerning and the button does feel like a weak link. I can make the unit work as required 100% of the time IF I count off 5 seconds after the battery indicator goes off before trying to heat the unit. Since I can make the button consistently work now I'll have to allow time, heat and use to write the end of this chapter.
- Battery Charge - Using the USB it took 2.5 hours to charge to full. Not sure if this is specific to my unit and the battery that came with it. I was able to verify that with the mouthpiece in I'm getting 6 full 5 minutes sessions again per charge instead of the 4 sessions when the mouthpiece is off and not keeping the heat in.
- Heat to Touch - When using the unit as I would normally (at Medium or Lower) the heat is not an issue for me.
- Air Flow/Draw - I followed the advice to 'tamp down' when packing but not too much. I would say the draw is better than the Solo and just a tad harder than the MFLB. I would rate this area excellent.
- Unit Quality - Feels solid except for the button. The tiny bit of vapor that comes out the oven vent as its heating up and not being hit IS A PLUS for me. Tells me to hit it because the leak occurs for me just before the temp I'm aiming for has been reached. So I know I'm going to get vapor even though the temp light is still blinking. To me this is a plus when 5 minute sessions are all you get since I can start drawing sooner confidently.
- External Herb Smell When Vaping - Minimal, hardly noticeable, but not time tested.
- I don't do wax, oils, etc.
Final Summary: I have come to appreciate the unit in a short time once I started using the unit as I normally would. My early testing left me leery. I'm glad I didn't let that stop me from mastering the unit. Last night I had the choice of reaching for the Solo or the X-max and I chose the X-max because it was loaded and all I wanted was a quick 2 hits. Very convenient to just pick up the unit, click, hold and hit. Would I recommend the unit as a daily driver? At this point I can't in good conscience compared to the Solo. If the unit holds up to the test of time I could see recommending it as a great starter vape for daily driving at a lower price point. You gotta pass the test first though.
Here's where the unit fits in for me:
- Backup daily driver.
- Load and Go unit for out in the open use. I think the unit could pass as a cheap, large, starter e-cig cigar/pen but I wouldn't press it for close scrutiny.
I'm glad I got it. I've fallen in love but I'm not sure it's a long term relationship.
Disclaimer - You're mileage WILL vary.

I'll go on the record to say I'm no longer interested in eciggs, or *vaping* ejuice. Just didn't want to get involved with that anymore.. maybe in the future.
They don' t blow up in your face if its a "regulated-mod" because regulated has a smart chip inside that controls the device and "regulates it"
The mechanical mods are unregulated and can very well blow up if there's a shortage in the battery, pushing the battery pass its power capabilities, etc.
About to pull the trigger on this arizer air .. mmm puffitup.com offered me $155 without the grinder .. $169 with the grinder .. mmm
I break my bud up with my hands .. I prefer it that way because I love doing that. Never used a grinder .. heard fine grinds are better but eh.
Been vaping for 3 or 4 years now, one of the best things I ever bought. The health difference from cigarettes to this is undeniable. Anyone who thinks they are as bad as cigarettes just doesn't know what they're talking about. Far cheaper as well. Doesn't bother anyone, even those who absolutely hate cigs. It's amazing, and I'm puffing mine right now. Cheaa

It's not good for health AT ALL. It's just not as bad as actual cigarettes though.

Obviously. I don't smoke cigarettes. Never did, never will. Fck that.
The place I went didn't have the two vaporizers I told you I was looking for.
They did have the PAX, but it was our of my price range.
The guy at the shop tried to sell me on the G Pen which was $99, you know anything about that?
http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0185/1576/products/box-closed-pen-02_c59c08d3-de91-44c2-91dc-da2b10b82ac5_grande.jpg
 Yeah. That and the one that got passed down to me by my friend the atmos vicod along with the Titan are the WORST vaporizers.
The G pen is terrible. Do a little research yourself. It's probably $25 but rebranded for $99. Just like the vicod. Just like the Titan.

this sh!t probably worst than real cigarettess. We have no idea what is in these things and some are coming from China.....

We know exactly what's in there.. It's in the ingredients but tbh I wouldn't personally fck with it unless I'm trying to quit smoking. I had my little phase then realized I'm not trying to get caught up in something people use this for to stop tobacco.
Reason being people like seeing vapor, they like to also have great amount of flavor. When I tried it, the shit really tasted like strawberries. It was crazy.
Went to vape shops and the moment you walk in you're clustered with clouds. It's crazy we put that into our lungs. Especially people who go for clouds. Luckily I dodged that bullet.
I'm still a little into it because I'm trying to stop smoking weed, but I don't think I need to pick this up to quit. It's less of a mental addiction as opposed to tobacco

Fake..
http://www.puffitup.com/category-s/168.htm
Order flowermates from there or any vaporizer. Their an authorized dealer. Don't just buy from anywhere, there are fakes around of every vape.
Tell me your price range and I'll tell you what to get?
$80-100 - Flowermate or the XMAX V2 PRO (whichever is your style)
$120-$169 - Arizer Solo or Arizer Air ($269 but on sale for $169)
Anything between $200-300 sucks
$300-$400 - Crafty or Mighty (Same company, same vape, but the crafty is smaller and has been getting serious issues with battery problems, the mighty doesn't much)
Grasshopper is going for $150-$200

Supposedly the best portable vaporizer, their shipping starts for new customers in a few months

Had a feeling about that one. Im thinking about going cheap for a desktop vaporizer like this one http://smokeplus.bg/vaporizers/231-vaporajzer-pop-vapor.html read couple of reviews, seemed all positive so far

Nope. I never heard of that shit. And be careful with purchasing vaporizers people don't know about. You don't know what kind of air path it has. You can be inhaling plastic fumes.
As for desktops, the best ones are in no order -
DA BUDDHA -$189
http://www.puffitup.com/Silver-Da-Buddha-Vaporizer-p/dabud.hf.htm
VOLCANO DIGITAL / CLASSIC - $550 / $420
http://www.puffitup.com/Volcano-digital-p/vol.digit.htm
http://www.puffitup.com/Volcano-Classic-p/vol.clas.htm
ARIZER EXTREME Q - $230
http://www.puffitup.com/Extreme-Technology-p/arz.ext-q.htm
For desktops, I'd go with the whip, bags are loved, but they take forever to fill up, I find it stupid. I'd PERSONALLY go for the Extreme Q. There's also the Silver Surfer (same brand as Da Buddha) 7th floor makes great shit. You can find it for $129+.
Another portable that's really good from what I'm hearing, is the Firewood v3 - Can only be purchased from the retailer themselves - $145-$165.
http://firewoodvapes.com/
Bottom line, don't purchase anything I didn't list.

Thanks bruh, i will think over it during the weekend.

If you're going desktop over portable, that's the best choice. Desktops have the best efficiency and power. They're also the most durable.
If you're going portables the Arizer Solo or Arizer Air are the best durable work horses and 9.5/10 flavor & efficiency vaporizers. If you want to cheap out, the flowermate v5.0 ( or whichever model is cheaper) or xmax v2.
If you want a combination of both, Arizer Air for the go Extreme Q for home.
Arizer has the best customer service, and has a VERY low, probably the lowest failure rate of any portables. Shit will last 2-5+ years.
It'll be healthier and you'll get blasted off of small portions. You'll also save money. A shit load, you seen that 1.5g I posted, that lasted me 7-8 sessions so far (three being in a Pax 1 which has a big oven) and I still have 3 nugs left. It's been about a month or so and I'm not done. It saves bud. But if you were to roll it into blunts, that's like, 1-3 blunts depending on size.
As for the FireFly vape & the MFLB, they require practice and techniques to get them to work right. Ask @Fallen Angel to tell you about the FireFly 1 he purchased. The FireFly 2 will be released March 1st or so.
All in all, you get FLAVOR out of the vaporizers, and twice as baked. You actually taste the strain.
Did some countless research for months.
Bit the bullet and finally purchased a mid/high-end vape for dry herb. Comes with a wax tank, I don't do that though .

It's the crafty/mighty equivalent but cheaper.
Should be here by the weekend.

I could never be content with a square mod, I hate the look of it lol. Do yourself a favor, try vaping wax. Stronger high and saves you money, plus no smell at all really. I used to spend $40-$50 a week on bud, these days 2 grams of wax ($80-$90) lasts me a cool 2 months. $60 for the pen.
https://excapevapes-excapetek.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/e-palm-black-green.png
I got the light blue one. If you do try out wax, stay away from shatter and get yourself some crumble. I used to only vape shatter, and it does the job fine, but it's soooo damn messy. Shatter is UNBELIEVABLY sticky, if it gets on your fingers you'll be cleaning it off for 10mins minimum. Not to mention the mess it makes in my pen...shit. Shatter is the way to go.
Also, my plug told me that they use chemicals in shatter while in crumble they don't, so there is that too.

Thanks for the recommendation but I kind of have this thing against it. I see and know people that do it and their facial structure change as if they do drugs

I'm talking about smoking weed through vaping most of the time which is healthier. Thc vapor goes to the lungs not combustion

Yeah I'm thinking about getting an arizer vape...cartridges ****ing suck ass though...you can't get as high as you do with flower and shatter no matter how much you smoke.

Don't get the air. That was on my radar. Get the one I baught.
Do your research. And you can if you're using the same amount of bud you do in a blunt.

I had the Arizer Extreme Q on my radar...seems to be the best rated unless you want to pay 500 dollars for a volcano. (**** that)

Yes. Get the extreme Q or the Silver surfer. The desktops are superior to the portables but if you're traveling and want a portable go with the boundless brand. Their shocking. I'll do a review when I get it

Been vaping for about six weeks now, and this mod is decent, and the tank is fantastic. And I usually vapend 70/30 or higher and flavors like unicorn milk or a lot of the chalk dust brand flavors like Dream. Very enjoyable, got me off the cigs, and since I can't smoke weed right now, gives me something to relax by. Down to only 3mg of nicotine. Very chill.

I gave up on eciggerettes since I found out the one I used was so amazing but wasn't a regulated mod and I didn't want to blow my face off. If for whatever reason someone can get me to get a regulated set up mod that provides clouds and flavor that's cold vapor (I can't stand throat hits an heat)

Pretty sure mine is regulated. But regardless, why not just do a little googling and put yourself on?
I'll look into the kranger start up kits. I just don't want to change coils and all that bs, how do I avoid that? I rather buy cotton. Or do I need to change both cotton and coils?

Coils come with any decent mod. I wouldn't vape on anything without coils.
Thinking I'm going to need an ecigg like the kranger subbox mini starter kit. Been using my boys lately and I like it. The flavor isn't that good on his RBA. Would anyone else recommend this device? It'll be 50 wt. The guys at the vapeshop says I'd need 150 wt device to get flavor or the proper power out of it. I only vape at 22wts.
And no, I'm not doing this for the culture. I'm a month free off of weed. I also won't be using nicotine, although I love the nicotine rush when his ejuice had it.
Also, for anyone who vapes dry herb (weed) I purchased a boundless CF vaporizer. It's pretty amazing.
http://kangeronline.com/products/kanger-cupti-starter-kit?variant=18128495685
That's the device I used. I didn't get any flavor out of it. The coils later burned and required changing, perhaps that's why.
