I'm looking at their team and the only real thing glaringly missing is a shotblocking rim protector

East is stacked as it is

Cavs, Hawks, Bulls, Raps, Wiz, Pacers, Heat are all going to win 50+ games

Don't know if there's room for one more

True but you have to expect injuries. All those teams are 50 winners if completely healthy

Boston finished the season very strong

They brought in some real quality pieces

David Lee

Amir Johnson

A questionable yet shown signs of potential in Perry Jones

They are a deep team, despite lacking a core star

With all those draft picks and players, who knows what they could land... If they had Demarcus they'd be a top 2 team in the East

Do you think this team can get to 50? They were clearly an improved team post Rondo

It will be interesting to see what Ainge does with this team in the next 2-3 years

He has done a marvelous post contender, rebuild of sort phase.

Not out of the question for me but it certainly isn't as crazy as suggesting there's 7 50 win teams in the East :oldlol: :oldlol:

I wouldn't actually be surprised if they drop off a little this season. Their run was damn improbable to finish the season and while it was great, I feel like it was done off of great coaching and a whole lot of heart. Stevens will keep coaching at an elite level, but it's harder to win across 82 games off of heart. They've improved their roster but they lack a true #1 option, still no shot blocking.

They might still scrape through to the playoffs, but I'm not holding my breath this season. There's still a lot of work for Ainge to do to rebuild the Celtics into a contender. They're in a good spot to do that, but it's a long road still

The only thing really missing is athleticism, size, and talent. They have a bunch of ok players. They won't look like last years Knicks, full over embarrassing scrublords....but they aren't a good team

Either the Celtics or Knicks should win their division.

Celtics coach does more with less and Knicks have the best player in the division. Everyone else in the division is fodder.

Most Boston fans are built to be pessimistic. Blame their dads going through lots of last-second Red Sox heartbreak and reading Dan Shaughnessy.

Don't blame them. It's just how it is. People around here aren't convinced in life until they see results.

There was a "crazy predictions for 15-16" thread before the season started here and I said in there that these guys were gonna win 50 games this year.

They have to go 18-9 to do that. It's gonna be reeeeeal close.

MMM
02-11-2016, 09:40 AM
they were at a 50 win rate over the 2nd half last year and a few off season predictions did have them finishing as high as 2nd in the East so it is not a total surprise that they can reach 50. They did really take off post David Lee benching

They we're something like 51-31 since acquiring IT in his first 82 games. They've only gotten better since then. Could very well get 50.

Not surprising, the celts have very few flaws and Isaiah has been the best pg in the east this year. Team is stacked with good players, kinda like the nuggets the year after melo left.

They've been a lot better than I expected. Instead of "12 sixth men" They've been an All-Star, 4 solid starters and the a few reserves good enough to start on some teams. Last night to the contrary the defense has been excellent which explains why there are so many good players with average stats. Jae Crowder has become one of my favorite players. 50 wins is realistic. But I still don't see them beating Cleveland or a healthy Bulls team.

I thought 50 wins was being bold back at the beginning of the season and if they lose in GS tonight, that'll put the kibosh on 50 wins...but we would have come close and still shown some improvement over last season which isn't the worst thing.

More troubling to me is losing 7 of our last 11. Trending downward at this time of year is just bad juju. This is when you want to be hitting your stride if you want to go into the playoffs strong and win a round or two.

Wally450
04-01-2016, 09:21 AM
Think they'll fall short of 50. But with under 10 games left its good to get Jae back to try to put a couple wins together and gain some momentum before the playoffs. They haven't been playing as well as they did in February. 6th seed is where I saw them realistically, but they do have a chance to get back up to the 5 possibly 4 in their remaining games.

Hey look, you called it trisomy like some dork instead of Downs. You can officially type fancy words better than 3/4s of the gator-f*cking stain on the republic that is South Florida. Hate on Heinsohn all you like because God knows we do plenty of it up here, but its not his fault all those Lebron jerseys you guys bought are no good anymore. Time to get past it and enjoy your upcoming lottery years.

Caught feelings eh? I'll hate on Heinsohn's old ass until the day he rolls over, and then I'll shit on his grave as a final tribute to his legacy. I'll hate on Scal, Gorman and everyone else with an unfortunate association with your ***-guzzling team and city. What are you going to do about it, you limpwristed effeminate ******? If you don't like it then cry to the admins or come at me with better shit than "Le Mr.2/7 man!"

**** you and **** the Celtics and their brand of meme-basketball. Nobody would miss seeing them in the lottery; since after all, the only noise they'll ever make in the playoffs is when they'll intentionally injure another team's player or when their nasally voiced bitch fans throw shit or call out racial slurs as they get blown right the **** out.
