Lebron might put up some good numbers now that Shumpert and Irving are out with an injury.

KDs clearly the better player either way, not sure on numbers but, we'll see.

KD has that unstoppable level he can reach, Bron hasn't had that for years.

LeBron hasn't been there since like 2014? It's been like only one season.

Durant is the better player and will have the better season, given that both are injury free.

Why do you hate LeBron so much?? I despise people like Kobe because he's actually a rapist, and a jerk off in real life.

This is why you idiots are idiots...
Its not about hate.
Its nothing personal.

We are talking about who the better basketball player is.

Huge LeBron fan here but unless LeBron learns to shoot the ball beyond 5ft I can see no scenario where Lebron is better than KD.

Judging on MVP Kevin vs Lebron of the last two seasons, I'd take KD.

Dude is an all time great level talent. As far as impact he is on the level of MJ, Shaq, Bron, Bird, etc.

It all depends on Kevin Durant's post-injury elasticity and whether or not he can rebound to pre-injury form; if so, the same Kevin Durant that outvotedprime-age LeBron to for his 2014 MVP awardeeship can easily outperform a 30-year-old, ill-rested LeBron who's already shifted into cruise control--and will likely continue to habituate it.

Whether or not we'll see that Durant is a speculatory question at this point, but we will have the closest showpiece to answer that once the ball hits the hardwood on the Thunder's preseason-opener tomorrow night.

People thinking too much about the injury.
Even in his small stints last year half injured he put Bron to shame.

He'll bounce back no dramas, Bron, Curry and Harden fans are shaking

Who knows how Durant comes back from his injury issues? The injures he had could continue to get worse. Will see.

Durant reached a level never seen before in the NBA prior to his his injury

They actually had to change a rule to try to slow him down

On a better/well built team bran's talent is truly unparalled, but with him carrying the scrubaliers? He'll gas himself before the 4th. I'll take KD (kinda one dimensional compared to bran but really really effective on his role)

Huh? Hate LeBron? And what has Kobe got to do with this?

Durant was better than LeBron in 13-14 and I think the gap will be even bigger this year.

LeBron was and is still the best in the world, and I'd take him over KD any day (not handily, but for me it's a simple decision). If you're looking for stats (i.e. Fantasy Basketball), then Durant's your man. But if you're looking for a player to absolutely control the game and be the best in the floor at any given time, that's LeBron. Also, LeBron is more durable than Durant, always has been always will be; between the 2, Durant has the higher chance of getting injured again this year.

Actually, none of this is true. KD carried his shitty team and shitty coach to 60 wins on some of the best numbers the league has ever seen, in one of the toughest conferences ever. They go from the 2 seed to out of the playoffs without him. Frankly, he's always carried his team. Westbrook isn't in the same league as some of the all-time great second options... guys like Magic/Kareem, McHale/Bird, Pippen/Jordan, Kobe, Shaq(06), Kobe again, Wade, etc... Westbrook shoots 40% and isn't a great fit for Durant. And Durant has never had any great role players to write home about... possibly the worst coach ever. He turned arguably the worst franchise to one of the best, in a matter of years. Suck a ****ing dick for undermining his contributions. You're a moron.

Durant's foot injury was the first major injury of his career, and there's almost no chance he re-injures it. So you're wrong about that too.

Here's how it actually is... both guys are tied at the top. There's no one guy that sticks out as being better. LeBron's a little older, and Durant is coming off an injury. They're at a dead tie at the top. Other than Davis, there isn't a guy that comes remotely close. Durant and LeBron are in a tier of their own with Davis a couple miles behind drinking powerade and eating his mothers grits trying for energy to catch up.

tf would he be bitter, did you not watch the year after?

Dumb ass LeBron family

Anyway, if KD is 100% I feel he will have a better season

Yeah that foot injury was the first major injury of Durant's career, but to say that it means nothing for the future is dead wrong. To say injuries cannot become chronic is stupid. While yeah you can believe that they're 1a and 1b or whatever, the fact remains that KD is still coming back from an injury, and might not get back to his old self (at least for a little while).
However, if you pit LeBron against Durant in the finals, who do you think is going to come out on top/play better than the other? To me that answer is LeBron; don't get me wrong, KD is fantastic, but LeBron would hand it to him were they to face off. You are correct though, they are far and away the 2 best in the league and I can understand why someone would take Durant (2014 was unbelievable). Personally though, LeBron is still the best in the game until proven otherwise

Lebron.

KD is great but he's not Lebron great. Lebron showed last playoffs he's by far the best in the world.

KD needs to step up, he's already 27 years old, has had bunch of failures last few seasons and developing some bad injuries.

He has a lot to prove coming into this season.

That's a tough question...

When they first faced off in the finals Durant was only 23, and not nearly the all-around player he is today. LeBron was probably at his peak, and had the better, more experienced team around him.

If they were to primarily guard each other then it'd be a tossup. KD scores just fine against LeBron, but LeBron has him beat in the post. Donovan is a much better coach than Scott Brooks though, and would never put Kendrick Perkins out on the court for significant minutes. (One of the worst coaching moves in NBA history... he absolutely killed us against the Heat on both offense and defense)

True, they did face off when Durant was young, and he STILL put up 30 PPG on 55% shooting, and he's only better now. I still think LeBron would outplay Durant (only if Kyrie and Love aren't in suits), but if they meet up in the finals and Durant absolutely takes it to LeBron and outplays him, I wouldn't be too surprised and would then consider it the passing of the torch.
