View Full Version : Why isn't Aldrige called a traitor/colluder?

He basically left his team to join a huge conference rival which already has 2-3 established stars.

Because he, like kobe, is a low efficiency chucker that doesnt play defense. Again, similar to kobe, his basic stats may seem good but any real knowledgable basketball fan knows that his impact is low and his style of play does not lead to success nor wins. Advanced stats back this.

Lamarcus aldridge basically gets bounced in the first round every year. Guaranteed. Kobe, without Shaq or Pau = same result. If you surrounded LA with the level of support that Kobe had in 09-10, he would win a ring too. Without dominant supporting casts, both LA and Kobe are perennial locks for first round exits because of their inefficient style of play and lack of defense.

On the other hand, Lebron's style of play carries scrubs to within 2 games of the chip.

By "only hate Lebron", you mean Kobe, Melo, Durant, Harden, Curry, Howard and Rose, right?

Also Wilt. And MJ.

Also, Aldridge isn't on LeBron's level. This is like Bosh joining Wade, not LeBron joining Wade/Bosh.

LeBron has been held to the highest standard a young athlete has ever been held to.

He was already getting compared to MJ at like 17. Alpha since birth, unlike guys like MJ who couldn't make his high school team, or Kobe, drafted 13th while bitching and whining to get traded to the Lakers Ala Eli Manning. And road the coattails of peak Shaq to get meaningless sidekick rings.

This dude LeBron gets criticized for being better than Jordan or Kobe at a younger age, and for being drafted to a shit franchise with no help.

They think because Jordan and Kobe were carried to multiple rings by the best superstars, role players, and coaches, that somehow LeBron should magically carry his team every single year to the championship, even though it's never been done in the history of the sport.

So now you got a bunch of insecure guys who can't let go of the past, and can't admit LeBron is better and always has been better then the players they watched growing up. It just is what it is.

Aldridge is joining the super old guys Parker/Manu/Duncan.

He will clearly be the best player on his team, alongside a fringe top 10 guy in Leonard.

Lebron teamed up with 2 star players in their prime. Some people called Wade the best player in the league in 2010/2011.

The end.

Wade was the best player in the league that year (at least NBA 2K11 had him rated the highest).
As for the topic at hand, Aldridge was not the Best in the world, did not promise 8 championships, had no "decision," didn't team up with Prime Duncan, we already knew Aldridge was leaving, he didn't promise Portland never to leave until he brought them a banner, doesn't talk in third person (at least to my knowledge), and lastly everyone worships the Spurs these days and everything they do.

oh the horror

There was no clear meeting as what most are sure happened between Bron, Wade and Bosh. None of these stars on the Spurs outside of Leonard are even close to their primes anymore.

It's really not the same situation. The OP knows this. He's another one that likes touching his toes while the board takes turns f*cking him in the ass. It's like these dudes like abuse.

you could call him that if that makes you happy, but the reason it isnt as big of a deal on here is because he wasnt the best player in the world (or even remotely close to it) when he raw dogged then bounced on his team.

Aldridge let the Blazers know he wasn't resigning with them at least a week before free agency. Cleveland had to find out about Lebron during the decision, 4 days after the start of free agency. Blazers had a chance to change it's direction and the Cavs were left to fall apart

If the Cavs had a history of drawing a handful of really good Free Agents over the years, then James more than likely doesn't leave Cleveland. But history proves (before James was drafted and up until he left in 2010) that the Cavs have never brought in a really good free agent since free agency started in 1988.

Kevin Love is by far the biggest FA name ever brought in (outside of LeBron in 2014-15)

Aldridge is from Texas. Also, he stuck it out for 9 years on one team, even though it went through tragedy after tragedy with injuries, and even though he never wanted to play or live in Portland.

He played hurt in the playoffs for a team that had no chance at a title, a la Grant Hill.

All things considered he might be the Paul Pierce or Dirk of Portland. Think about it... 9 years on one team, and they were never championship contenders. (PP and Dirk's franchises were able to eventually bring them to contention.) That's almost as long as KG played in Minnesota before going to Boston to compete for a title.

Never demanded a trade... went in legit free agency... team had to clear the cap space to sign him. Signed for less than Tristan Thompson will probably fleece Toronto or Cleveland for.

*applause*

the Cavs knew for many months that Lebron had intentions of leaving...so please stop the BS in saying the Cavs were left to fall apart.

during his last year in 2010 at Cleveland, he refused to restructure a long term deal and confirmed he would test free agency. the Cavs also did very little to make him resign prior to the Decision...unless you think firing Mike Brown is some huge thing.

that leads to Lebron visiting other teams...should he have informed all other teams he met with during FA that he wasn't choosing them prior to the Decision? exactly what does he owe to them...mind you, they are trying to win him over, not the other way around.

just accept that the Cavs mgmt fcked Cleveland over in providing the right support to keep him at home...they chased mediocre talent with big contracts, or over the hill players thinking Lebron could always compensate for them. doesn't work that way.

when Wade decided to test FA markets last year and this year, what did Riley do? he continually shopped for players in spite of what Wade's decision would be...Riley did NOT rely on Wade's decision to propel the Heat's upcoming season. same will be done next year for Wade too, as Riley inks KD to a long term deal.

bottom line: Cavs front office was awful during his 1st tenure their.

Colluding is accepted now thanks to 'the best player in the game' making it a simple act of 'giving himself the best chance to win'.

That is Budaddii/Vaniiiaa A.K.A Simon who sponges from his rich parents and brags about it.

That's his definition of living like an "Alpha" :oldlol:

I've pushed his shit in, and many others have before him. He likes it, has some kind of sick twisted attraction to being mauled on an internet forum.

I honestly wouldn't bother with Vaniiaa. He was never a Bron fan, in fact I'm pretty sure Simon hates him. He's a Durant stan from memory.

Because he didn't wait until a live TV show to announce he was leaving while keeping his current team in the dark the whole time. He also didn't quit on his previous team, never promised to win them a ring, didn't go on tv claiming it'll be easy and he'd win 7 rings. Basically he handled it like a normal free agent as opposed to an arrogant child.

The lack of logic here is insane.
That "old" team of Spurs won the chip last year and have been contenders practically every year for the last few years. To diminish them for your agenda is just ignorant.

Wade wasn't the best in 2010 or 2011, at all.

The Heat were shit in 2010, they got raped in the first round in the east.
Somehow adding Chris Bosh whom couldn't even lead his team to the playoffs in the "weak east" makes them better than the Spurs?

You diminish the Spurs but prop up Wade/Bosh just to hate on Lebron, it's pathetic.

Damn.. Jimmies are rustled in this thread :lol

People are banging their head on a wall because they cannot come up with a reasonable justification for not calling Alridge a colluder.

LeBron- Joins 47 win team that lost in the first round/ missed playoffs the last 3 years = Mega collusion

Alridge- Joins last years NBA champs that consistently win 55+ games and already have 4 Hall of Famers- Not Collusion

He basically left his team to join a huge conference rival which already has 2-3 established stars.

Because nobody believed he has the ability to do it on his own. LeBron is super talented and can earn a championship by building a championship team. Nobody blames Aldridge because this is his only chance at one.

If anything, David West should be complained about for taking a massive pay cut and a smaller role. Aldridge can at least be the star.
