Both seem like their viewers just watch out of loyalty of what it used to be. WWE especially a wrestling show that is ashamed of wrestling marketed thward children :facepalm

SNL is an absolute shit show. Raw atleast has great wrestling matches every few months and WWE randomly has great PPVs every so often.

SNL has no highs. It is constantly rock bottom and never gets better.

Any random Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman segment is better than anything SNL has done in 25 years.

And no, that Blue Oyster Cult cowbell skit isn't funny.

Nothing more predictable than someone claiming Wrestling and SNL were better 10 years ago.

come on, you gonna argue that it wasn't? (I don't know SNL much but WWE has undisputedly gone downhill)

Took one post for my prediction to come true.

They say it cause its true. WWE having a natural monopoly is why its so horrible. Could you imagine one niche sport of entertainment which has no financial incentive to put out a good product? It would be worse than being a Knicks fan.

Tbh, I never watched an episode of SNL in my life. And WWE has been going down hill since they changed the name from WWF.

I'm enjoying SNL much more now than 10 years. This current cast is really nailing it being more current pop culture. 20 years ago I think SNL peaked. But I don't think it fell off too much. You just got to learn to relate.

That orgasm sketch with Miley Cyrus the other day was cringe worthy. **** SNL.

They say it because they're older. Everyone has said the same thing since the late 70's.

And, every sport is a monopoly with 0 competition.

So you're comparing a TV show to non-scripted sports. LOL.

Back in the early 2000's WWE was competing with WCW, and were forced to put out the most exciting product possible to stay in business. So you don't admit that the urgency and pressure to create the best show possible back in the day would make it a better show than what you see today?

Sports don't rely on scripts. Sports are inherently exciting and will always be successful. We're talking about the WWE, a scripted TV show...

They all have monopolies and no incentive to put out a great product any more than the other; scripted or not. Moreover, it's irrelevant to my point.

Current WWE era(2011-present) hasn't been as bad as people say it is. It's better than the New Generation Era(1992-96) and 2006-10 years where it was basically the Cena-Orton-Triple H show. I don't even know what they refer to 2006-10 as because it was so bad.

Still behind the Ruthless Era(2002-05) in in-ring performance and behind Attitude Era(1997-2001) in storytelling and the Golden Era(85-91) in popularity. Overall, it's not so bad.

2010-2013 gotta be the worst years ever, right (since the 1980's)?

This year seems to be the worst TV ratings wise.

I watched the season premier of SNL last Saturday. Only the first half-an-hour was somewhat funny.

Not true , if don't like the NBA you can watch the NCAA same with the NFL.
Or could go to any high school for that matter.

You can watch several independent and regional wrestling promotions and numerous other sketch comedy productions.

I rarely catch SNL nowadays but it really was much better in the 90's and even early 2000's

Lucha Underground and NJPW are very good. People who are sick of WWE should watch these shows.

New Generation was funny bad. This is just boring and stale. The ratings reflect that, considering they've been breaking records for lowest ratings lately.
