Lol what did the east have, three good teams? Magic, Bulls, and Heat

This thread proves nothing

I'm more shocked he listed Wade. :oldlol:

As for his point, the east has always had comparable (or better) top end talent than the west. The west has just been much deeper in terms of good players.

Wade was top 5 in the regular season, not the playoffs

Regular season : 26/6/4/1.5/1.1, 50%, 25.6 PER
Playoffs: 25/7/4/1.6/1.3, 49%, 26.3 PER

If we're talking about regular season and playoffs, Dirk and Wade are 1 and 2. Wade was easily a top 5 player for both the regular season and playoffs so I'm not sure what your issue is there.

damn... two of the best players in the league lost to a team that didnt have a top 5 player in the finals (and their best player was sick during the series). that's fcking sad :(

2011 is the exception that proves the rule. If the East really had talent, you wouldn't have to pick one year.

Rose wasn't even a top-5 player that season. Worst MVP, at least in the time I've watched the game. A point guard who wins MVP leading a below average offense:facepalm He was one of their weaker defenders and they won based on team defense.

I'd rather have had Kobe, CP3, or Dirk

Ridiculous hindsight analysis. :facepalm
If Rose wasn't a top 5 player that season then why were respected NBA analysts like Rick Bucher saying they would take Rose over Lebron? :hammerhead:

And LeBron wasn't a top 5 player in the Finals
But he was the most consistent Heat player. Bosh scored a decent amount of points, but was inefficient as hell. Wade was great for the first 45 minutes of games, but would constantly wilt like a flower in crunch time.
Lebron was consistent throughout the entire series. Scored at a decent clip over the first 3 quarters, and played distributor in the 4th quarter so Wade could win one last Finals MVP. Unfortunately Wade came up small when it mattered. :(

I don't remember that, but there were definitely some outlandish things said about Rose to push the MVP narrative. Nevertheless, he was absolutely a top 5 player for the regular season. I don't have an issue with his MVP, and in fact the biggest disgrace that season was Kobe inexplicably getting first team All NBA over Wade despite Wade having better numbers in ppg, rpg, spg, bpg, fg%, ts%, PER, being a better defender, and having a better team record.

Agreed

As a former Heat fan, watching Wade repeatedly crumble under pressure was tough

That was the season that everyone in the world (including the media) was on the I hate Lebron/the Heat bandwagon. Nobody was going to give Lebron or Wade any credit for any success they had that season. In a way it's a good thing they didn't win that first year together. If they had everyone would have simply dismissed at as the Heat just having too much talent to lose.

Yet 3 times the amount of rebounds and assists :confusedshrug:

Dirk was the best player in those finals, but after that it was LeBron

Wades last 3 games were bad

Game 4- throws away the game

Game 5- checks himself out (look how little mins he played), doesnt return

Game 6- WOAT closeout game

Plus he was bad in Game 2 (didnt stop the run)

Overall LeBron was better

Just stop it. If Lebron and Wade's performances were reversed, you (and all Lebron stans) know damn well that you'd be trashing Wade incessantly. Lebron scored a combined FOUR DAMN POINTS on 1/9 shooting in the 4th quarters of games 2, 4, and 5 including ZERO points in game 4. That's not even getting into his garbage defense. There is absolutely no way to spin the fact that Lebron choked.
