Inside was the guys ID so went to the guys place and gave it back. Other than the ID there was $110, a bunch of lotto tickets, and the typical other wallet items like credit cards, bank card.....
There such a temptation to take the cash and the lotto tickets. I could have easily just left it in his mailbox and there would be none the wiser. Funny thing is I knocked on the door and personally gave it back. They guy acted surprised, but not at all thankful. You figured with all that was recovered he could have been grateful. But karma got the best of me and I returned it with everything inside.
Question to you guys, would you have taken the cash?

you're a great guy hateraid

Me younger than age 25 would have not only taken the cash, but I also would have gone on a shopping spree with his cards.

Me today would have done the same as you...I hate that I used to be a POS

Good guy, it's the right thing to do. From what I remember, you have a nice paying job and money is no issue to you, which I assume is a big factor in this. I would have done the same, I was taught to treat others the same way I would want to be treated. Good on you

You'll get more than that back, don't worry. You did the right thing. I would of returned it as well. I lost my wallet at Home Depot once. A nice Michael kors wallet too. Went there after searching everywhere including Home Depot themselves. Left my number. Got a phone call the same night after canceling my cards and getting ready to go to the dmv the next day. I get a phone call that a very nice man brought it in. I had my student ID in there, person must of felt sympathy I was a college kid.

Shit restored my faith in humanity tbh.

This is the third time it happened to me too. And I've found a couple of phones. I managed to get them all back safely.

I was pick pocketed at a club once, by a waitress. ****ing club defended the girl too. I had over a hundred in there. She took my wallet, then went home "sick". I got it back but the cash was gone. Bar manager was like, " you should be lucky you got your wallet back with anything." Trying to put a positive spin on it

I know the feeling of finding out your wallet is missing so I don't wish that on anyone. Karma owes me a bunch

Losing your license and credit/debit card and even the. I've wallet itself fcking sucks more than the pocket change tbh. It's also why you shouldn't carry more than what you can't afford to lose.

Yeah same thing happened to me the first time I lost my wallet in college. It wasn't really on campus and whoever found it could have easily taken it and walked off without a problem but they were nice enough to return it to my college's lost and found. They didn't steal a dime and I knew I had at least $60 in there. I couldn't go to the lost and found until later that week cause I had finals and I really doubt someone returned it... had to ask friends to borrow about $60-$80 for the week for food etc. Had to get a substitute student ID to get downtown for my last final exam on the shuttle.

Second time, they returned everything and didn't used the cards but took the $12 I had in there. Didn't really mind though because $12 isn't too bad. I was a little annoyed by it but whatever better than everything being stolen.

Left my wallet in a cab once. My license still had my dad's address on it because I had never bothered to get a new license when I moved out. Guy drove it to my dad's house and charge him a $70 cab fare for transporting the wallet. :oldlol:

Moral of the story: hateraid is a nice guy.

No. $110 is a nice chunk of change, but the right thing to do would be to return it. I couldn't steal from someone like that, even if I knew I would get away with it.

Ungrateful MF.

I returned a wallet this year too. I found it on the ground as I strolled up to a pizza joint. Gave it to the cashier guy and he called the owner because they have your record.

The guy came in to get it and I was sitting their waiting. Cashier got all the credit when he could have told the owner the guy that returned it is sitting right there.

Then another employee, delivery driver, said I should have kept the money.

I found a phone a few years back on the way to work. Fortunately, it was unlocked so I called "Mom" and told her. She ended up calling the owner of the phone (a female) and she called by 5 minutes later. Of course she was completely relieved about me finding the phone. We agreed to meet at a neutral spot downtown after work in the evening. She also said: "I'm going to give you $20 dollars!" I said: "cool"

We met in some office building downtown. I gave her the phone, she thanked me again and then said: "Do I still have to give you the $20?"

"Uhh, yeah bitch..":biggums:

They are only grateful till they get their shit back and then it feels normal.

In a moment of despair and confusion, they are just happy you found the phone but as soon as the phone is back in their hands, they could care-less.

was she hot?

Some Hispanic chick. I see your point though. Even if she was hot, I still would have hit her up for the money.

I actually lost my wallet last weekend. Getting it back tonight. Took me abit to track it down but randoms came through and I think I only had like 20 bucks in there and I'm going to assume it's missing and if it not I'll probably just give it to the dude. So annoying getting new ID's and everything.

I've lost so much shit. Jackets, phones, wallets etc. when somebody actually goes out of there way to return something I'm beyond pumped. That feeling of relief is amazing :oldlol: as a teenager I deff woulda been an ahole and took the money and tossed the wallet.

Found a wallet and it was full of clippings from a porno. No money but didn't want to return it and meet the guy who cuts out porn pics to keep in his wallet.

A guy i know left his phone at a bar. Someone found it called the recent numbers and got on to him. Said he'd be at the bar with it all night come pick it up so he drove an hour back to the bar. Got there couldn't find the guy called his phone and the guy answers and says he's keeping the phone next time don't lose it. Such a dick move.

Just remembered. When I was 19 on the bus with my last ex, we found a wallet on the seat. Some Mexican guy left his wallet. It had nothing inside but a fake ID that I've never seen before and no address. A $2 bill. Took the $2 bill lol

80 percent of the time I get drunk I lose something. Nothing worse than being drunk and realizing your wallet is no longer with you and going into full panic mode.

Depends, imo not worth the risk.

I once was following this jit to his plug, was trying to pick up and he was reupping. Turns out plug was dry, and I saw the jit dropped his wallet and I slowly kicked it under my car. My homie grabbed it and we drove off, had $100 in it he was going to use to reup with (petty ass dealer), instead we bought a 20 sac, smoked 2 blunts, and split the cash half half. He still has no idea what happened. That dealer never did serve me, so I don't feel bad especially considering the money was drug money in the first place, would never do it to a random wallet I find. I would turn that shit in, but this was different.

Interesting...would I have kept it? Idk...probably depends on how I was doing money-wise when I found it.
