View Full Version : Russell Westbrook Is The Next Steve Nash

Westbrook finally has the same personal Steve Nash had in Phoenix.

Amare Stoudamire = Enes Kanter
Phoenix shooters = Durant/Novak/Morrow/Ibaka
Mike D'Antoni = Billy Donovan

I predict OKC will have the #1 offense in the league and Russell Westbrook will lead the league in assists. You'll see flashes of this in preaseason when Westbrook has 10+ assists in limited time and OKC offense scores 120+.

:facepalm couldn't not name two star point guards who are more different.

I'll take the one who makes good decisions with the ball, thanks.

I've liked Russ for a long time (UCLA fan), but he's all athleticism and hustle. Lets you stuff the stat sheet in a regular season game, but in the playoffs everyone is hustling 100%. Nash on the other hand had a magic mind for basketball and an elite J to punish defenders.

bigger faster stronger
black > white
10 inches > 5 inches

So your dumbassery isn't confined just to threads about Lebron. Interesting.

Chuckbrook is in a class of his own. Nash wasn't a chucker. nash had sweet jumpshot. Nash had Field Vision. Nash had self control to not shoot everytime. Other than that

10+ assists for Chuckbrook.

Why not?

He averaged 30/9/11 since Kanter joined.

11+ assists with Kanter as the only other scoring option is impressive.

:lol OKC fans more delusional than Lechuck fans who thin 2/7 won't happen. Chuckbrook will fight Durant for the ball. the triple doubles have become an addiction. "Fk winning a title. Triple doubles are much better" - Chuckbrook.

Can you compare their finals stats?

He has become quite an underrated point guard and passer these last couple years.

His pocket passing has become as good as anyone's. It's so good it's tricked OKC into throwing over 10m per year at Enes Kanter.

Any 7 footer who can catch a basketball (which I admit Westbrook has not played with too many) could have gotten 15 a game on the Thunder last year.

They both are great but in total different ways.

Good enough to win 2 MVP's in a row. Imagine if he had a top 5 defensive team.

No one seems to remember steve nash was an MVP. Something Chuckbrook can't accomplish cause he is too busy chucking to pass the ball, learn to become a field general, learn to have a jump shot. :lol

He chucks enough that he only got 8 assists a game last year!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGZ!!!!!111111

Nash was great but he wasn't a prime time playoff performer. He had great IQ, but time and time again he would get dominated by the PG he was guarding whether it was Bibby or Parker in the real season.

:biggums:

WB doesn't even have a single PO run comparable to Nash's '05 run. Heck, WB never even had a series comparable to Nash's '05 WCSF.

Oh yeah? How did he do versus title contenders like the Spurs? He routinely got outplayed by Tony Parker.

Westbrook has dominated Parker and forced Pop to bench him.

That whole IQ thing is blown out of proportion. Let's post something from 2012 and pretend it's still relevant to this day.

Steve Nash in the '05 WCF - 23.2 PPG 3.8 RPG 10.6 APG 1.2 SPG 0.2 BPG on 52.5% FG%

TP in the WCF - 20.4 PPG 3.0 RPG 4.2 APG 1.2 SPG 0.2 BPG on 45.9% FG%

How did Nash get outplayed?

Nash turned a 27th ranked offense in '98 to 15th in '99 and 7th in '00. Took the Suns from 29 wins to 62 wins and from being the 9th worst offense to the BEST offense in the league. Dude led 6 #1 offenses, 4 top 5, and 2 top 10. Led multiple 60 win teams. 30/7/12 on 64% TS in '05.

Also, you're comparing PRIME Parker to '14 Porker?
