D’Angelo Russell: "If you’re open, I’m going to get it to you. Half the time, you won’t know you’re open."

What a magician, so confident, so bold. 19 years old. :applause: :applause: :applause:

Unfortunately, he's playing with this guy...

Kobe: "If you're open, if the guy next to you is open, even if the entire team is open, I'm still letting it fly."

Is he gonna learn not to choreograph his passes? Talk about predictable...

Kids gonna lead the league in turnovers.

Here, let me stare at the guy I'm passing to for 5 seconds and then throw some weak, flailing bonce pass and see how it works out. :facepalm

I like the kid a lot but he needs to play more freely. **** being the guy who only wants to feed others. Grow some nuts. He's like the kobe of passing now.

What's with LA and the culture of being one-dimensional?

:oldlol:

Same. I saw all I could stand of D'Angelo Russell during the Summer League. He looked slow, lacked athleticism, and all his so called elite passing ability turned into turnovers.

Hopefully, I'm wrong and he turns into, as Jerry West called, a super star in the league. We'll have to wait and see. I'm not holding my breath.

West said that? Jerry's usually right on the money with his scouting. Interesting. Guess we'll just have to let his career play out. But from what I saw I wasn't impressed.

His turnovers decreased by a lot since he's not trying so hard to justify his pick like he did in the summer league. Seems more calm and confident now. And West said he has the potential to be a multiple allstar type of player.

Lol @ how shook people are. Clippers have a team full of all stars/former all Stars from top to bottom, but Blake, CP3 and company literally don't have any pressure to win a championship from the public or the critics.

But keep talking about a 19 year old PG and ignore the losing piece of shit in Clipper Land.

Nobody outside of LA pays attention to any of that.

The Lakers will always get attention. Just like the Knicks. No matter how shitty and abysmal they are, they will always get attention. It's a gift and a curse, but you still haven't come to grips with the curse part of it.

Your team is lottery bound and will get shit on throughout the season. The Clippers will win 50 games, make the playoffs again, and potentially have a deep run.

You're melting down already and the season hasn't started. :yaohappy:

Damn it's gonna be fun bullying you dudes. :hammertime:

You're just responded to me with a thesis on why you post in every kobe thread and you're currently criticizing a 19 year old PG while being perfectly about a veteran PG losing his whole career.

Doesn't work like that my bandwagon friend. Comes with dick-riding the Lakers. They get praised when they're good and DEFECATED on when they're bad.

You just chose the wrong time to dick-ride my friend. Should've chose the Warriors. :oldlol:

He can shoot. He's INSTANTLY better than this guy. Do you realize that defenders essentially stopped guarding him once coaches and players figured him out? I'm not even trying to be a troll but after seeing scrubs like Lin and yes I'm including Marshall because he was a scrub by the end when everyone figured out his magic tricks, its nice to see a PG who isn't so useless offensively and people have to respect his shot.

It's been a rollercoaster of ******** PG's for the Lakers lately... Sessions, corpse Nash, Lin, Price, Marshall, and a bunch of nobodies that I dont even care to remember. Steve Blake has been the best PG we've had in the last few years (no disrespect, he actually played well for us at the end of his stint)

He still has to prove that he is better than this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eyropZzfU4) guy.

Because Lakers let him go practically without getting anything.

And there are reasons why waiving him off isn't glaring in the rear-view mirror.

Like many journeymen under Mike D'Antoni's coaching in 2013-14, he had a career year, offensively; it's no coincidence that he's also under the bevy of players whose career highlights have been under Mike D'Antoni's coaching, only to become placeholders elsewhere—a la Jeremy Lin.

As a Lakers fan who stayed attuned to all summer-league games in 2014—especially to get my first glimpse at the incoming rookies in Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson—I knew from the outset why he was let go, after seeing him struggle in those games. Considering that he was a bench player in all but three games for the upsurgent but still-lowly Milwaukee Bucks last season before being traded to the Phoenix Suns and waived in the immediacy of that move, I have never batted an eye since.

It's safe to conclude that he was one of the many beneficiaries of an inflated offensive system and thus that his prolific assist rate was more of a product of D'Antoni putting his players in a position to succeed than it was out of any artful playmaking on his part. D'Angelo Russell to me has already proven that he's more of a centerpiece that orchestrate his teammates on his own skill, rather than a lynchpin in Marshall who simply has a defined role of playmaking in a viable offensive framework.
