His stats today didn't represent the impact he was having. Made some good moves and looked confident dictating the offence and made some stops on defence. Just a shame his shot was short the whole game but he's only been cleared for contact in practice a few days ago so no surprise he's rusty. Going to be fun watching him and Hezonja together. Gordon's only just turned 20 too and his frame is already huge. I was down on him when we picked him but now I'm really thinking he will be a big impact player in a couple of years.

Gordon is a huge question mark. I remember last season everyone had high hopes for him and then he got injured. This kid needs an entire healthy NBA season to develop. I like his potential. That reverse layup was sweet.
I don't think any one expected much from him last year. He was always a couple of seasons away from being a real contributor, still early this year but in summer league he looked like he was ahead of where people expected.

He has look odd this pre season. He will commit turn overs miss shots he shouldn't have taken and then he will get one to go and suddenly score a few quick baskets on nice plays and get involved in everything. Guess he's still adjusting but the talent is there to do everything, we've seen him create drive shoot post up. One area i sang improvement is off ball movement, if he can start moving like redick did he will add a lot to his game.

They literally showed 0 Magic highlights. They showed the Heat miss 3 shots in a row over Gordon taking off further than anyone I've ever seen and hit a reverse.
and over napier's late game threes against his old team....
Gordon and Hezonja both had plays that would have made it in to the top orlando highlight's of the whole pre season.

Think he got a little overpaid. wasn't it like 7-8 mill a year? I guess not so bad now with the cap increasing, but I'm trying to think what teams would absorb that salary to take him...

It was front loaded, goes down a bunch each year. Was rumoured the cavs were interested in the off season but no deal got done which I would guess had to do with matching salary. When he plays well he isn't a bad piece for a contender to have off the bench, he looked worse than he is last year because he was being asked to defend next to Vucevic and that's just not his game at all. Probably still over paid a bit but we were the lowest salary last year and the idea was to get a shooter there to help out oladipo and payton. With our roster this year though he isn't really needed as Harris and Oladipo are shooting better and we have Watson, Fournier and Hezonja off the bench. not to mention Vucevic has been extending his range.

The Magic have six above average players on their team already. Give them a better coach and a shot blocker in the frontcourt and they have something.

Say a player like Terrence Jones signs with the Magic, he fits their run and gun style, he blocks shots, he can stretch the floor.

And yet ESPN will likely never show the highlight and nobody will talk about. But Dr. J's will live on forever. It's funny how that works. Maybe it's preseason but a play is a play.

I can say this, Orlando will likely thrive under a hard nosed defensive coach like Skiles.

The players are young and hungry for success, which I think will be a good match for Skiles who would likely wear on the veterans a bit like he did with the Bulls.

Orlando future looking bright. I expect a jump from them either this year or next.
