IT does feel like a tyrant though. This domineering self correcting constant fluctuation of continuous but fragmented experience is a whirlwind, and the mind is the only thing that can steady the ship and churn out some kind of order. Which is a dishonest thing to do when you get down to it.

Paint this picture for me: your mind is constantly caught up in when you have to do laundry next or leo's latest movie and whether the president is scum or an upstanding individual. And all those interests have something vaguely to do with one another because they're all YOUR interests, so you want to make them connect in all these ways, you want them to have some kind of order...

You want to think your mind is powerful because your mind isn't the only thing making you go... but it is the only thing making you go that you feel you can control.

so you've got your stomach and your loins and your heart and your muscles. You've got to compromise with other people and work together to accomplish things. You've got to have good cheer and enjoy silence and remain faithful to your cause.

How much of that is the mind responsible for? Impossible question. But if you're dialed into the sunset you might miss its reflection on the waves
