all these sudden outpouring of love to Odom, where were they when he needed friends most?

fk them. none of them intervened to stop his downward spiral. none of them reached out and called him to even asked him how he was, and now suddenly all of the NBA loves Odom?

i understand it's the politically correct thing to say, but the best they could have said was that they were sorry they didn't tried to do more.

at least be honest and accept they had lapses.

and fk CP3. he's the NBPA pres, he should do something to prevent future events like this. set up a help line for troubled nba or ex-nba players, set up a foundation to give help to them. anything. just don't pay lip service and then call it a day.

Odom was apparently purposely closing himself off from those around him.

But somehow the leechers and hanger-on's were still around enough to be bleeding him dry.

The Michael Jackson effect. Before his Death. He was one of the most hated people in the world. After his Death you saw plenty of tributes for him.

How do you know people haven't reached out to him in an attempt to help? Lots of people with drug issues have people who care for them and try to intervene, but you can only do so much.

I remember seeing a piece on Odom on NBAtv back in his Laker days where he talked about how he supports like...TWENTY friends and family members or some shit. Bought them all houses and real nice stuff. The number may have even been 30. All I could think of at the time was that I felt sorry for him because he couldn't see the tremendous amount of people that were just using him.

You do realize it is very difficult to evaluate depression right?
A depressed individual doesn't want to do anything. He will dwell at home, sleep, do drugs, drink etc. but he very rarely socializes with people. He is depressed because he isn't happy with his life or himself. When you are not happy, you usually avoid people for many different reasons.

I've known a lot of people battling depression and they all have ONE thing in common. They AVOID social settings, friends and family. They very rarely seek help and become extremely irritable and pessimistic.

So don't just necessarily assume his friends (and family) even knew anything about him. And don't assume that they didn't offer help. Many depressed individuals don't want help, too ashamed to admit they have a problem, or don't even realize they have a problem.

Karma will NOT come back to them. It's always the world's assholes that get the benefit and get away with it.

Abraham Lincoln? Assassinated.
Gandhi? Assassinated.
Martin Luther King? Assassinated.
John F. Kennedy? Assassinated.
Malcolm X? Assassinated.

George Bush? Elected president and promoted to second term.
Adolf Hitler? Suicide.
Donald Trump? Republican presidential nominee.

Then you get narcissists like the Kardashians glorified and rewarded with... basically everything.

Don't hope for Karma... it doesn't exist. Want to have a good life? Become a worthless piece of shit. That seems to work.

All those guys above were assholes too, although MLK and Lincoln were just minor assholes. But they were assholes who championed a good cause.
