Because they both copied Pistol Pete. Just go look at footage of him. Dude created the way that Jordan and Kobe played.

So all the Jordan stans need to get off his dick and stop saying Kobe copied Jordan, because Jordan copied Maravich.

Not really, at least to that extent...

Younger Jordan is more similar to a David Thompson, for example. He also had plenty of Walter Davis, then he also added some of Bird's game as he got older and started going to the post more.

Kobe is the most similar thing you've seen to a Michael Jordan, yet he has more Maravich to his game than MJ, I'd say.

Recent players who have a game more similar to Pistol Pete are Curry or Kyrie... But Maravich is one of the most influential players ever in some way or another, and you can even say he was balling in the wrong era for a player like him.

So yea, they have plenty of Pete's stuff in their game but not ALL THAT similar style.

This mutha****a here. :facepalm

MJ's game was nothing like Pistol Pete. If you're gonna say MJ's game resembled anyone else's, it would be David Thompson like SHAQisGOAT said. MJ watched Thompson's games because he played in ACC country, whereas he didn't watch NBA games because they didn't come on TV much back then.

Correct. MJ copied from David Thompson, this is proven by his hall of fame enshrinement back in 2009 where he asked David to present him. Watch David Thompson highlights, you will see MJ's explosive first step and moves.

Jordan didn't even get to watch pistol Pete. He's said he based his game off Thompson because of watching him in college when they didn't get many NBA games on TV.
