My apologies if you took it as an insult. I was trying to emphasize my point. It may have been dramatic. I don' t really wish that on you. But if something as giving a kid a present and the kid goes and sells it for a profit, then what the hell is sacred anymore? Life is just one big profit stream at that point. Family is just a business agreement. Finding a good deal and selling it for a profit is not a bad thing at all. Reselling something meant for bringing some joy to a person is pretty despicable. But I guess I'm just old fashioned to believe that great gestures are meant to be sentimental.

In the bigger picture it's no big deal at all. Having a product in demand and selling it for profit is the American dream. I've bought concert tickets to resell for more. I've resold my shoes many times. If this was a profitable transaction then I genuinely say good for him.

I tried to cop a size 8.5 space jams back in high school. So thankful the guy was asking way out of my range of $225, he asked for $280. I thought he was ripping me off at the time but I later found out from another big sneaker guy I knew that it was a pretty good deal. I ended up being size 10.5 soon after so buying them would have been pointless (weird growth spurt at the end of high school kicked in).
