They are the video game equivalent of the marvel movies, you play them and enjoy them but at the end of the day you know exactly what you are going to get and it will be fun, well produced, highly polished but nothing new. Online is where it will stand out though there's not really many good balanced online shooters right now in the style halo does on next gen imo.
I'm excited to play it but I know it won't be my GOTY.

Tlou is my most over rated game. I really liked the game easily one of the best of it's generating but it had flaws and anytime you try and mention them fanboys just won't admit them. Aside from production values a lot of games did the actual game parts better.

It's got the multiplayer though.

Most reviews seem to think the campaign story is dull but praise the multiplayer. Issue there is that they would have been playing multiplayer on the pre release servers and set up so if it gets over loaded or breaks like the halo collections multiplayer did once it went live (pre release reviews were ok on multiplayer from memory) then it'll be a problem.

Doesn't mean people can't speed run it in 5-6 hours on a second play through though. If it's like other halo games if you know the lay out you can run through areas without killing things to speed up the game.

343 Halo games are too linear (at least Halo 4 is, I've heard 5 is similar). I remember the original trilogy having big wide open levels (Silent Cartographer, The Covenant ). Halo 4 felt more like COD where you're just going down a linear path.

No it isn't. In COD you level up, and get better weapons in your loadout.


Halo was the last bastion of everyone starting with either a BR or AR, and all the good weapons are laid out on the map.

Just finished the campaign on Legendary by myself (which I will never do again), and I have come to the conclusion that Master Chief is going to die at the end of Halo 6, just like he did at the end of Halo 3.
Still though, great campaign; tough bosses, and incredible twists I never would've imagined, high quality. Now time to go back to NBA 2K16

It's way different from any other Halo game I've played. You need to play more strategically than before because now it's easier to die. They got rid of the power ups you can pick up, but your suit has so many abilities it almost doesn't even matter, once you get those abilities down you feel like a freaking boss in the battlefield, you really feel like a super soldier. For the first time ever I switched to the bumper jumper controller layout, and once getting used to it, it was a very satisfying experience.
As for online play, I haven't played online yet, I'll get to that later tonight. And dude, have you not gotten it yet?

If you can camp and crouch in a corner and watch for an enemy on the radar, then jump out and get advantage with the Assault Rifle, you'll kill the enemy 9 times out of 10. Pretty much what I do.

I never got into halo. Was always bad at halo 3 or whatever that's as my friends played. Guess I grew up with call of duty. I honestly would of liked to given this game a chance if I had an Xbox one. But I'd probably get owned by the people who played halo several years before me. Just like jumping onto call of duty for the first time, people are naturally going to know the ins and outs even if they're bad themselves they're tiers above you. Wile you can learn, I just feel like by the time I've learned the ins and outs the next halo would come out and then I'd be absolutely competitive.

The whole 60fps thing annoys me. I don't really notice the difference between a fixed 60fps or a fixed 30fps but I sure as hell notice the difference between an unfixed 60fps which has larger drops than an unfixed 30fps. It's the frame rate drop range that's more noticeable imo. Couldn't they have lowered the frame rate when in split screen? I believe killzone and some other ps4 games did that for multi player.

Kind of annoys me how games nowdays are being released with missing content... Even though it is free DLC/updates, it still irks me... I got poverty internet capabilities which is partly why I haven't joined the next gen of gaming yet...

They'll never reach the levels of the original trilogy again if they keep pulling shit like this... Money over everything though, I'm sure these extra downloads benefit microsoft some way or another
