West (and Hibbert) are too slow for their new offense

1. indiana looks great right now because it's preseason and they are actually playing their key players unlike other teams
fyi knicks are 4-0, that should tell you something about preseason
Indiana might not even make the playoffs with that roster..

2. I'm sure david west is crying in san antonio, where he'll get 15 minutes a game on a true pro team. He made his cash, now has a real chance to get a ring.

David West wanted to get a ring. He didn't care if he had to get one playing 15 minutes a night, not being a star, and allowing others to carry the load.

He wanted to be on a contender where he doesn't need to do anything

He got what he wanted and knew... Taking less money to contend for a title, while not playing as much...

I didn't like the move then and don't now. He would fit in better and gotten paid more with the Thunder, Warriors,Cavs or Rockets. Of all the teams to take the league minimum with the Spurs. Even a title with them doesn't improve his legacy. He's nut hanging on just like Revis did with the Pats last season.

What West did is admirable. Which NBA player plans and prepares so that he is in a position to do what he WANTS to do at the end of his career? He will contribute (as Duncan will be rested to be fresh for the playoffs) and his toughness is greatly needed (hopefully no more Bonner). Part of it is probably curiosity and wanting to be part of a model franchise - I'm sure he's heard a lot about SAS from G. Hill and Hibbert (who spends a good part of his summers in SA).

West gave it his all for Pacers for several seasons. He was the grit and heart of that team. Good move, Pacers are going to rebuild and moving away from old school ball to run and gun small ball.

If the Cavs offered him something, he'd have been better off going there (because LeEast).

Glad he's with the Spurs though. Always been a fan.

And yes, the Pacers are good. They were on a fifty win pace with Hill in the lineup last year. Now they have PG13 back and some good new pieces.

The Spurs absolutely need him to do something, in the brutal west they will need him to be a major contributer on the second unit.

Oh, I'm sure Pop will put him to work. He's too solid a player.
