The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed in principle to a contract with free-agent center Jack Cooley, a league source told Yahoo Sports. The Utah Jazz waived Cooley on Tuesday. He had signed a pair of 10-day contracts with the Jazz last season before getting a multiyear deal with the team.
The 6-foot-9 power forward averaged 1.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 5.4 minutes per game in 16 regular-season appearances with the Jazz. Cooley will join Jared Cunningham, Austin Daye, Quinn Cook and D.J. Stephens in Cleveland
