Is this a sign of peaceful things to come?

Hundreds of Israelis -- Jews, Arabs, and Palestinians marched through the center of Jerusalem calling for an end to the current round of violence and calling on people to support coexistence and a solution to the occupation.

The event, which began on Facebook, organized for people to come from Tel Aviv and Haifa as well.

Representatives from Jerusalem's Hand in Hand school - a bilingual Hebrew Arabic school which promotes coexistence, spoke at the event as well as representatives from other peace interest groups including the forum for Israeli-Palestinian bereaved parents for peace, reconciliation and tolerance.

Hadil, an Israeli-Arab from mi'ilya in the western galilee, said she came because of her belief in the importance of Arabs and Jews standing together. Although she added that despite the good nature of the event, it doesn't attract all the people it should.

"Sometimes Arabs think that the peace the jews talk about is not the same peace Arabs talk about - some Jews also think this and don't come."
ALL ABOARD THE PEACE TRAIN!!! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6mKMV0d2cs)

Maybe they should bring the march to Gaza, to show these people that peace is possible!

If the Palestinians learned to embrace nonviolence, they'd win.

Israel can't play the victim so long as they can keep pointing to suicide bombings, rockets being fired into Jewish neighborhoods and rocks and molotov cocktails being thrown at IDF troops.

That won't happen though. Too many radical elements are more interested in fighting the fight now as opposed to ending it and Israel will all be too happy to oblige them on that front.

I hope you realize that Israel has no interest in winning the Victim Olympics vs Palestine. All they want is to stop getting randomly bombed and attacked.

This. Israel isn't trying to win some PR battle to attain "victim" status from random radical leftist cultists.

Israelies should stop stealing Palestinian lands and building settlements on top of it?

Isn't all of Israel Palestinian land in your eyes and the eyes of most Palestinians?

Just for the sake of argument..... Why is it Palestinian land? Why not Ottoman land? Jordanian land or Egyptian land?

For me personally, yes.

For me personally, yes.
So, if you went back in time to 1900 when there was neither a Palestine nor an Israel, you would tell all the Jews there "this ISN'T your land" and you would tell the Arabs "this IS your land"? Why exactly?

Ottomans are not arabs. "All the Jews" did not live in modern day Israel at that time.

I didn't ask about the ottomans and I didn't say "all the Jews". I asked about all the Jews that lived there at the time. Why is it not their land?

Because the Ottoman caliphate was stronger the Jews?

Because the Ottoman caliphate was stronger the Jews?
So, then it was the Ottoman's land? Ok, when it stopped being the Ottoman's land, why in your opinion should the land belong to the Arab Palestinians but not the Jewish Palestinians?

And by the same reasoning, if strength is what made it the Ottoman's land, why doesn't strength make it the Jews' land? What exactly is the argument for the land belonging to the Arabs?

I don't even necessarily disagree. I honestly don't have a strong opinion on who the land "belongs" to, but you do. I just want to understand your reasoning as to why you feel so strongly that the land belongs to the Arabs and only the Arabs.

After WW1 France and Britain agreed to established a Palestian state in the former lands of the Ottoman empire

Then:

The 1948 Palestinian exodus, also known as the Nakba (Arabic: النكبة‎, "al-Nakbah", lit. "disaster", "catastrophe", or "cataclysm"),[1] occurred when more than 700,000 Palestinian Arabs fled or were expelled from their homes, during the 1948 Palestine war.[2] The term "nakba" also refers to the period of war itself and events affecting Palestinians from December 1947 to January 1949.

The precise number of refugees is a matter of dispute[3] but around 80 percent of the Arab inhabitants of what became Israel (50 percent of the Arab total of Mandatory Palestine) left or were expelled from their homes.[4][5]

Why are Britain and France the authority on who the land should belong to? Your sole reason for believing that the land belongs to the Arabs and only the Arabs is based on what Britain and France agreed to 100 years ago? This is how we decide who owns land? These are matters for Britain and France to decide?

So what if Britain and France decide that Bulgaria belongs to the gypsies? Is that legitimate?

his party is a significant barrier to peace. my presumption is that israeli-arab peace demonstrations are not going to effect the palestinian leadership which operates on very different principles. the democratic inclination of israel can't be ignored even as its undermined the same way it is everywhere else.
