A large reason for why Western society has turned to shit is because Liberal Arts education has turned to shit. When a majority of your educated population goes through contemporary liberal arts education, they are not trained to think rationally/critically for themselves. They turn into many of the cucks who are more concerned with not offending anyone and making everyone feel included than actually getting the ****ing job done. They are not able to think critically and question WHY, they just recite shit like a parrot.

We must either push more of society into STEM/Law fields or revamp what is being taught in our schools, elementary, secondary, and post-secondary.

Nah if college students were doing courses on Faulkner and Nietzsche and Wittgenstein they'd realise how inane liberal******ry is.

In the past, one would be ostracized and ridiculed for being gay. Now, if you madbouth gay people on facebook you are equally ostracized, ridiculed, fired from your job, etc.

I agree with the intent of PC, feminism, equality, and all that jazz. This has gone too far, however.

No it's far more than that. There's a paradigm shift in society from the individual to the conforming collective and it's pervaded every aspect of daily life. America was great because it was the only country in existence where the individual could control his destiny and succeed.

Now people aren't even capable of putting together a coherent sentence and they believe that using a hashtag with some contrived, trite catch phrase means anything.

Most people in power or who are allowed to wield influence today wouldn't be allowed to exist in any other period of time.

Not yet. Most of the powerful people are old white dudes. This upcoming generation of social media #feminismEquality #notTheSame sheep are ****ed. They need strong men who are willing to fight the good fight and say what needs to be said to lead them past this impending era of darkness and group-think.

The President of the United States is a 100% fraud and phony who grew up with every privilege and advantage possible and has used race and race baiting to get to where he is and it has worked for him.

common sense is a rare commodity these days.

I know what the OP is getting at and I can understand this.

Too many "educated" hipsters who claim they know everything and have little to no life experience tell you how the world works and their opinion out of a damn book.

a lot of these types are in government, how the hell do we expect any kind of real change if the people in power are out of touch?

I dont really have anything against him. He did what he had to do to get where he wants. Every one of us would do the same things, say the same things, bait the same topics that he did if we were in his shoes.

The people at fault are the phony sheep & #equality warriors that the politicians cater to. Not the politicians themself.

There is very clear separation and distinction between what politicians truly believe (we will never know this), say (what is fed to the public by the media), and actually do (most sheep will not actually care about this).

How can you not have anything against him? He's completely sold out the younger generations and hasn't delivered on any of his campaign platforms.

He's a top 5 worst President of all time.

The POTUS is to America as David Blatt is to the Cavs. Who holds the real power? Lebron. Whether the Cavs win or lose the finals, do we really credit/blame Blatt barring extremes of good/bad coaching?

The POTUS is to America as David Blatt is to the Cavs. Who holds the real power? Lebron.

He did absolutely nothing on the student loan crisis, the real estate collapse, or employment.

The only thing he is adept at it race baiting and inciting divisiveness within the country.

What does a liberal arts education even means these days? I believe it is another one of those terms that has completely lost its meaning through gross misuse.

It used to mean those studies that make one a free and independent minded person; it now appears to mean the opposite of that.

Too late, Democrats beat you to it:

The assignment listed a series of quotes and required students to identify which party affiliation best represented each statement.

The first quote read, "We should not help the poor, it

I wrote my Masters thesis on Light in August, and no I didn't come to that conclusion, in a manner of speaking Faulkner actually writes in a liberal style. Your definition of liberal is obscured by ignorant assholes who brand anything they don't like as liberal, the same case with OP. You think a pseudo intellectual uptight college sophomore who uses pretentious language and calls other people intolerant and narrow minded is the definition of liberal.

What's stupid is you all realize America is slowly crashing down and no one can pin point the actual problems. Arguing about democrats vs republicans instead of approaching the problem in more ways than black or white, no pun intended.

That's why there's a fkin gridlock in Washington, which some are calling a silent civil war. Nothing can be done because adults are acting like big fkin babies and choose a side on every topic instead of understanding and breaking down the issues.

The United States is burning down in slow motion, and there's no one that can do anything about It with the current system in place. So grab a lawn chair, get to a rooftop or a hill with a six pack in hand, and enjoy the Titanic hitting the iceberg; the Hindenburg crashing down. "Oh, the humanity!"

Rome all over again. Corruption, weaknesses, conflicting cultures, special interests...

We're going down, slowly but surely. 50 years from now, we won't recognize the US of today.

Yes that is correct. William was a radical though, not a liberal. But yes that is the current definition of a modern day liberal.

It will take longer than that, 150-200 years, none of us should be alive to see the true downfall. Oh well, we had a good run and atleast all of us were alive during the Pax Americana, or close to it.
