Cannabis is going to be legal in Canada!
i completely forgot about this!
the story around trudeau and the liberals for the past few years has been their case for legalization.... then the campaigns started and i've been paying attention to everything but! hilarious that it hasn't been a campaign issue really. i think that's an admittance of defeat by the conservatives, who now know a tough crime policy against narcotics is a failed policy.
god fcking damn coffee shops round the corner :pimp:

Wtf? Canadian state media calling "winners" for seats where the projected "winner" has like 19 votes.

Probably a majority too, which is a bit surprising.

Being in Alberta it's kinda funny watching people freak out over the conservatives losing.

Congrats Canada! You beat the corrupt United States to legalization :applause:
Hopefully this speeds it up for us. Surely it will draw tourism away, especially from the East coast.

u guys had some preparation with the upset in the spring
canadian politics are so fickle though. you can predict how well a federal party will do in the general based on how well its affiliate did in the provincial. so in alberta there was this ndp sweep... which might make u suspect the ndp to eat away at the conservative stronghold in the general.
but no, they swing the other way. it's like a pendulum. a counterintuitive pendulum.
in bc, they go ndp provincially. then they swing conservative federally. then they swing liberal provincially. now... well they're the one province remaining up for debate and last i checked it was going to be a pretty even split between the three parties.

I knew the NDP wouldn't get votes in Alberta despite their victory in the provincial election. That was more about getting Jim Prentice out then it was getting the NDP in. Most of the support came from Edmonton too, down south people are very anti-NDP.

hm i see. yeah and that wild rose cross over to the cons also killed their reputation i remember.
liberals now 26 ridings away, leading in 45 others
they might still fall short!

It did, and I honestly believe they would have won if not for that as well, and they're further to the right then the conservatives.

Just checking wiki about the election. There are Marijuana Party, Pirate Party and Rhino Party in this. :oldlol:
It would be great if at least one of those candidates actually got voted in. :oldlol:

I'm loving it, but I hope he taxes the shit out of the VERY rich (I'm not talking about the 75-200k/year earner) and abolishes the TPP (that shit scares me).

How is it that wanting to keep your own money IS greedy, but wanting to take someone else's money for yourself ISN'T greedy?
I was sad to see great NDP MPs go down like Stoffer, Dewar, Leslie. Strategic voting went to far and the libs got 100% of the power

Justin has a very small fraction of the charisma his father had. He led a very privileged life and didn't face the adversity that made his father great.
Finally. The Albertan is gone.
I hope the Libs go ahead with elections reform. All the PQ seats in Quebec (except 2) were won by less than 3%.
I am willing to pay more taxes if I see investments in the infrastructure. Here in the GTA I am tired of commuting 1 extra hour every day because our highways are falling apart.
