Why does diversity only seem to apply to white communities in developed countries? Before Europeans set up shop, you could say Africa was less diverse...so why can't white people have communities in Africa? You guys jump at the chance to bait people and you want to give entitlements to people based on race. Why is that? It's just typical of the anti-western/anti-white propaganda that kids are subjected to in the government school system. The message being sent to these kids is very clear that by voting for the white kids, they did something wrong.

How is a principal in America rigging a school election because she didn't like the race of the kids elected a "tiny" event? This is the kind of thing you think would happen in Saudi Arabia or China, not the USA. But it happened in the USA.

If this happened in Kansas and was about a principal rigging the elections because she didn't like the fact that all the kids elected were Mexicans it would be national front page news.

I actually mostly agree with that. I just don't get too paranoid about it...

But on principle I do prefer the universalist, French-style model, where everyone is equal under the law and the demands of disadvantaged minorities are demands for equal treatment, not special treatment. That to me is the more progressive model, the way of organizing society that best approximates the ethical truth that we are all human beings with equal claims to dignity, and that separating us by race is as absurd as separating us by astrological sign.

That's what America was trying to aim at, in spirit... but the founders screwed things up with slavery and now the United States has to live with the consequences. Demands for special treatment are only the predictable consequence of not upholding universal principles of equality... it wouldn't have happened if those in charge hadn't contradicted their own ideals to begin with.
