Would they be a possible contender in today's nba? :confusedshrug:

Prime Allen and KG would almost be enough.... Add in prime Pierce taking LeBron's lunch money in the ECF?

Yeah, they'd win it all. Wouldn't be too close either

This is a very strange question. The 2011 Celtics won 56 games. They were a contender THAT season, without all of their players being in their prime. They were even a contender the following season, making it to the ECF. The 2011 Celtics as they were constructed would be a top 2 team in the east. If they were all in their primes they'd be by far the greatest team ever assembled. (not counting Olympic teams of course)

Cavs still more stacked.

That team was actually the best in the league up until they traded for Green. They had a 61 win pace before the All Star break. I remember they whooped Miami's ass in all of their meetings that year.

The Heat actually won the final regular season meeting, but they did pretty much own us up until that point. I remember the ECSF matchup getting hyped up almost like a finals, and a lot of people had the Celtics winning. I actually think if the Celtics had won that series they would have went on to win the title.

Here are all their peak seasons
Rondo: 14/6/11
Allen: 25/6/6
Pierce: 27/7/5
Garnett: 24/14/5
Shaq: 30/14/4
Jermaine: 24/9/2

Now obviously they wouldn't average these stats together, but holy crap how do you beat that? Only the Dream Team could take them down

Pretty much. If healthy, they could push for 82-0 and 16-0 every season.

GOAT offense along with Top1 defense.

If Shaq and JO had somehow managed to stay healthy, that teams beats Miami and probably Dallas as well. Alas. Those Celtics teams could never stay healthy after '08. :ohwell:

Yeah, not so much on Malone and Payton; both were well past their primes by then.

2012 Celtics were legit too. Yeah they were a former shell of themselves but the Heat recently colluded. If the Big 3 never happens in Miami, Celtics reach the finals and maybe win a title in 2012.

What if they all died in a plane crash tho. I personally don't think they'd be contender then.

Even though that team seems dominant on paper, having two horrendous free throw shooters in Rondo and Shaq would be exploitable.

Theres a reason Lebron Wade colluded in the first place...cause the old ass Cs were the original colluders and kept taking them out in the east playoffs. If Celtics 2011 were in their prime Lebron and Wade are both taking their talents to the West

Allen and KG were traded. Ther was no "colluding".

In neither Big 3's case was "collusion" what occurred. Why? Because nothing was done in secret (we all knew that Lebron, Wade and Bosh had met beforehand and Danny had been trying to trade for KG for a couple of years) and nothing either team did was anywhere close to illegal. Danny gave up a ton of assets for KG and Ray and Lebron, Wade and Bosh were all unrestricted free agents with every right to do what they did.

No one cheated. No one did anything illegal.

You all sound like boobs arguing about this.

Here, let me help you out:

Danny Granger, Jeremy Lin, and Chandler Parsons all want to pay for the Miami Heat. They refuse to sign with any other team and they refuse to sign unless the other two are given contracts.

The Miami Heat must sign Granger, Lin, and Parsons right?

Bunch of morons on this forum.

PLAYERS CANNOT COLLUDE. OWNERS COLLUDE.

So unless Wade, Bosh, and Lebron suddenly turn into Micky Arison, they cannot collude.

How stupid are you? Wade Lebron and Bosh talked during a US-Camp tour about their future, they all signed contracts that ended 2010 so they can collude you idiot. Also all three took less money to play together, they could easily get max contracts.

That not what collusion means you moron. Granger, Lin, and Parsons can want to play on the same team all they want. THEY HAVE NO POWER/AUTHORITY to effectuate such an arrangement.

If Granger, Lin, and Parson all came to the Miami Heat and demanded they all be signed, Pat Riley will laugh in their faces.

I don't care what contracts Lebron, Wade, and Bosh signed. THEY ARE NOT OWNERS/GMs and therefore they CANNOT COLLUDE.

The absolute ignorance of this board sometimes...

Of course 3 scrubs can't collude, only 3 Superstars like Bosh Wade Lebron that every team in the NBA would have signed in a heartbeat in 2010 can do such a thing.

Let me take back the insult. Shouldn't have called you a moron.

But nonetheless, as great as Wade, Bosh, and James are, they have no power to sign themselves. To say they they "colluded" implies that they are owners/GMs, of which they are not.

Just as those "scrubs" could not collude---neither can 3 "superstars". They are players...not management.

If Wade, Bosh, and James came to Riley in 2010 and demanded to all be signed...Riley (as he as the authority to) could have told all three to go kick rocks.

What they did in 2010 was not collusion or illegal. Only teams can collude.
