I don't see why they wouldn't start Deng straight up. Winslow would probably have to be way over step his expectations to get that spot from a professional like Deng.

DoctorP

No, It's Spoelstra holding him out because Spo is the softest coach in the league now. :lol

Winslow needs more recovery time to heal from his general soreness.

Appereantly resting leg tightness nothing serious.

Dragic, Wade, Deng, Bosh , Whiteside starting.

They need to work on finding and establishing their identity, especially with Whiteside back. I'd like to see crisp ball movement, low turnovers, and good defensive rotations. I don't expect big minutes from any of the core guys though.

I'm not sue why you're so enamored with Green. :confusedshrug:

Yes he's played well, but if he was starting you'd be begging for him to be back on the bench after about 2 games lol. He's a terrible passer and ball handler, he has no playmaking ability, no on-court intelligence, and poor shot selection. He's a chucker, but he IS capable of hot stretches and instant offense, exactly what we need on our bench.

No, just no. As I've mentioned countless times, he's a low IQ player with a limited skill set. His shooting is nowhere near enough to offset the other problems he'd cause as a starter. I'm a Heat fan first and foremost, and if I thought the team would be better with him starting I'd be 100% for it. I'm obviously not going to change your mind though so I guess I'll let it go.

Being a starter is a token label. Wade has nothing to prove. Look at what Manu and Ray Allen were able to accomplish in the 6th man role. If the starters continue to struggle that looks like a natural adjustment.

What past baggage? I gave legitimate, tangible basketball reasons why Green shouldn't start. It's not like I said "Wade is our franchise player, he brought us our first title, he deserves to start, blah blah". I'm not sure what you're talking about. I want the Heat to be a good team, long-term for the season, and Green starting is not a good recipe for long-term success.

I don't agree that the starters need what Wade has with Dragic there, they need spacing to free up Whiteside, Bosh and Deng. Both Wade's and Green's previous seasons mean nil on the court at this point.

GP was basically done and came off the bench. If anything, Dragic coming off the bench would be better. A bench consisting of Dragic/Green/Ennis or Winslow/McBob/Birdman would be amazing. The starting lineup should be Rio/Wade/Deng/Bosh/Whiteside.

Rio/Dragic
Wade/Green/Tyler
Deng/Justise/Ennis

He's definitely better than GP was on the Heat, but he's been a bit underwhelming for sure. The shooting you keep talking about coming from Green needs to come from Dragic.

The bottom line is, Dragic and Wade need to develop chemistry and become the back court that was envisioned when Dragic was acquired. The only shot the Heat have at making a deep playoff run is with those guys performing at a high level together.

Yep 2 superstars. Top 10 PG. Top 5 center. One of the better 3&D wings and former all star in Deng. Add in their loaded bench and 2x Championship winning coach and ECF is the minimum target.

"I think just looking at the film it's a little bit congested right now," Bosh said. "We get into situations where we take quick shots, especially against super talented guys like John Wall; they get into the open court it makes it extremely tough and dig ourselves a hole with every quick shot that we take. So first and foremost we have to address that.

"Really, just to get a sense of what we're going to run and what style we're going to play when we're out there. Of course we've been talking about pushing the pace and everything. But we need to get the ball where it needs to go. I think right now we're not playing together. It's early. We have to understand that. We can't get frustrated with it. That has to be a common theme. We have to continue to preach it, talk about it, look objectively at the film and be open to criticism and suggestions."
