anyone think they are stacked?

Rubio, Wiggins, Lavine, Town, Neal...

add veterans Kevin Martin, Tayshaun Prince, Andre Miller, KG...

they look stacked to me. just missing one piece.

So stacked they won't make playoffs.

How the hell does that team make you stacked? Maybe 6 years ago including the young guys.

Maybe in three years if they can keep that team together.

they're just deep, but the young talent is top notch

they have rotation worthy players from 1-12

worst guy dressed to play will be prince or payne

i wonder if they'll manage to deal pekovic for somebody who fits better. i'd like to see that guy as a first big off the bench for a fringe playoff team. those slow methodical post moves are fun to watch. send him to like indiana for ... god knows what

The term "stacked" has come to mean nothing because it's being used to describe any collection of names on a team. It's too ubiquitous. It's become like "****." Wiggins and Towns have star talent but neither guy looks ready to take games over yet. Rubio could be a respectable starter at pg. Lavine is athletic. They have nice young talent, reason to be optimistic about the future. But they are not a particularly good team right now.

Heck Yeah with some young talent that is a year or two away from making some serious noise. With the vets we have now, those guys will help the growth of the young Timberwolves. We will surprise some teams this year. Next year. Watch out League!!

they look stacked to me. just missing one piece.

Rubio (can't shoot), Wiggins (role player), Lavine (only an athlete), Town (I'll give you this one), Neal (who?)...

add veterans Kevin Martin (no defense), Tayshaun Prince (old), Andre Miller (old), KG (should be retired)...

yeah but when you look at this roster

Rubio
Lavine
Wiggins
Lebron
Town

add veterans Tayshaun Prince, Andre Miller, and KG

and it looks suspiciously stacked to me. :confusedshrug:

do you think they can make the playoffs with Lebron?

Absolutely stacked. No excuses for not winning a chip this year. KG's legacy is on the line.

stacked with potential, sure. but theyll still be an afterthought to playoff teams in the league for another couple seasons.

stacked with potential, sure.

I concur.

I really like that they brought in the vets to work w the young pups. Need to be able to learn from those who have been through the grind

Mitchell has them looking like shit in the preseason but it's only the preseason. Still I really don't like their sets

I think Wiggins and Towns possess greatness, and they get on well. Hopefully they stay together and tap into said greatness.

I think Lavine is overrated, as he has no real professional skills other than athleticism, but you hang onto him in case he suddenly puts it all together. His smoothness gives me hope.

I think Muhammed can be a great 6 man in the future. Amazing instincts for the game.

I think Rubio will never make his mark in the NBA as he will always be fighting injury. He is just too frail and unathletic for such a crazy position that the PG spot has become.

I think Bjelica is one of these sneak up on you, surprisingly good type players. Has that glint that makes me think he may do a few special things.

I think Tyus Jones is enough of a winner and comes up big in big moments to the point where he will have a decade long pro career.

I think Gorgui Dieng is menacing enough to be a quality rotation big.

I think aside from Rubio, the above is your core going forward.

Trade: Martin, Pekovic, Rubio, etc. for a PG and another big and/or draft one of those with next year's lottery pick (which they will again earn). Slide Garnett into the front office once he decides to hang it up. Attract a free agent or two (like mid-level guys as it is Minny) and compete for a chip in a few more years.

That is the plan, as I see it.

In the final preseason game Wiggins had 24-6-4, Towns had 18-12 and Muhammed was a big contributor off the bench. These are the kinds of numbers the top two need to put up to take the team to competitive levels and Muhammed needs to keep contributing (his all-round game is a natural fit for the 6 spot). This is the core inside the core, I like Lavine, but he messed up another starting shot which makes me think he might never be ready to be a truly refined pro, so damn smooth though when he is on.
