What kind of cancer did he had?

FireDavidKahn

RIP

What kind of cancer did he had?
hodgkin's lymphoma...which is one of the most treatable forms of cancer and has something like a 90% success rate.

He first sought treatment (or announced, we wont ever know for sure how long he knew) in August and 2 months later he died.

This sh!t just isn't fair.

Wow, I can't believe that just yesterday I was reading an article with some statement regarding him not coming back soon to coach because "it would be too hard for him" at his serious condition, making it sound like, while very ill, he wasn't very close to death and leaving maybe some small posibility of a comeback much later. RIP...

I think they knew for a while. Especially when they said he wouldn't be back all year and that his family wasn't talking. RIP. He coached some really good Wolves teams. They were a fun team in the 2004 playoffs.

Came out of nowhere. I remember people were saying his cancer is completely treatable. Just goes to show how fragile life is. RIP.

Was hard to believe.. I was watching a football game, and it showed Flip passed away.. :( :(

I didn't know the people side of his, but everything I hear is nothing but positive. From the NBA side, he was a very good offensive coach that quickly turned the TWolves' organization for the better. As a Lakers fan, I used to fear playing the TWolves. They were a threat even to the great Shaq/Kobe Lakers because of KG and very good coaching. They were not particularly talented beyond KG, Sam Cassell, and Lattrell Sprewell so Flip made them play better than what they were lacking in talent.

Flip afterwards went to the Pistons. I felt they underperformed in playoffs, but in regular season they were awesome. I thought he was doing a good job with his 2nd run with TWolves rebuild. Disappointing to hear the cancer news and then this?? It shows you how vulnerable we all are at the end of the day. Enjoy life & don't ever take it for granted because you can lose everything you hold dear without notice.

RIP Flip. You will be missed.

rip Flip, sad news man, always felt for the guy because he was kind of labeled an underachiever. Lost in the conf finals 4/5 consecutive years, but anyways cancer is scary af and I don't wish it upon even my worst enemy.

I didn't even know it was this bad, this must really make Sager and Karl think and be greatful.

I am myself recovering from the same lymphoma.

It is true that it is curable nowadays and one of the reason why success rate is high is because its mostly young people who are diagnosed with this type of cancer.
Treatment is very harsh, without strong kidneys and heart it can take a turn for the worst.

RIP coach :( .
