View Full Version : This is why it's better to get paid on bi-weekly rather than 15th and 30th

When I used to get paid on the 15th and 30th, sometimes the 15th fell on a sunday which meant we got paid a little earlier on the 13th. So that check we got on the 13th had to run me all the way until the 30th which was 3 weekends. And we know the weekends is when we spend money the most.
But when you get paid every other friday, sometimes there is a month that allows you not to pay rent at all. Example, in January of 2016, I get paid on the 8th and 22nd. That means I don't have to use any one of those checks to pay rent at all because I get paid again on feb 4th which will be for februaty's rent. January's rent was already paid with the last check in december.
So all that money is mine in January to throw into savings and treat myself to whatever.
That's the benefit of getting paid bi-weekly

You need to join Alpha status and get paid weekly.

shouldn't make a difference if you can budget your money
you get paid what you get paid, what day they give it to you is irrelevant

this.. unless you are literally living paycheck to paycheck. or the difference is huge, like you get paid once at the beginning of the year (Jan 1), once on june 15th. Instead of June 15th and Dec 31.

In January of 2016, I don't have to pay rent with either check because of how the pay day falls on the 8th and 22nd. Instead of paying the rent for february with the 1/22 check I can just do it on 2/4 when I get paid again
So that is a $1000 boost in my account. Understand what I am trying to explain to you?

Nathan my man I always see you in here posting nothing but comments that attack other users and/or their posts. What do you actually do for a living other than slurp that retarded chucker?

It's just a difference in cash flow but doesn't really make an impact. It's definitely nicer to get paid bi-weekly in your early 20s when that is more important tho.
I already pay all my monthly expenses (groceries + util) with credit to defer a cash payment for a month which makes a bigger difference.

It's only a $1000 boost based on how you spend your money.
It's 24 paychecks vs 26. However it's the same amount of money.
It makes a psychological difference because you probably base your spending on what's in your account. If you were thinking of the whole 12 months, you budget and spend differently.
