Ain't it a bitch? Can you imagine Lebron or Kobe taking the McHale clothesline that Rambis took? They'd be in the emergency room.

Weak defense though :oldlol:

Lebron's stats are superior because

1. There were 20-30+ more possessions a game in the 1980's
2. Defenses are better today
3. Lebron's per 100 possession stats are far superior

Just cringed really hard, especially at the comments

Not one person mentioned pace/possesions per game/per 100 possessions stats

Casuals won't know this shit

Another interesting fact Larry Bird with a broken back got more offensive rebound than healthy Lebron in his peak. Lebron likes to steal defensive rebounds from his teammates.

Translation, Lebron is a loser focused on padding stats.

Larry Bird per 100 possessions career average
30/13/8

Lebron per 100 possessions career average
37/10/9

They also have the identical FG% despite Lebron taking many more 3's in his career, and this is why his career TS% is .2 better than Bird, despite a higher volume of shooting

And then you factor in defense

Lebron wins

Bird used far fewer of his team's possessions than Lebron did. Bird's stats would be better if he had the ball in his hands as much as Lebron has over his career.

And yet you don't mention that bird's usage rate was 27.5 to Lebron's 32.3.

Does one not have to consider bird's teamates were better and took away from his stats?

Total rebound rate for Bird was 12.8 to lebron's 9.6. Or Bird's VORP of 8.5 to Lebron's 5.9. We can go on...

Not that I have a dog in the fight but Bird at 30 was in his peak. Lebron peaked earlier...are we really going to be critical of a guy for LARRY BIRD being better at 30 than he was at 30?

Because this thread is about statlines moron

I don't care if Bird had a lower usage

If he did use the ball as much as Lebron he'd have significantly lower efficiency...

Or I could go on about skewed rebound rates because everyone played ****ing close to the basket

Or I could mention that Bird played PF most of his career

But it's irrelevant to this thread

More possessions = more opportunities to improve a statline

Lebron has a far superior statline when you use a little logic
