View Full Version : Lebron's bad back declining more rapidly than Larry Bird's?

CavaliersFTW

After Bird's back got wrecked he never looked or played the same. Could still play but didn't dunk or play as athletic as he once did even though he had already had limited athleticism.

I saw LeBron laying on the sidelines all game the same way Bird used to... Bird's back wasn't even that bad at age 30 was it!? LeBron might be declining even faster than Larry Bird. :wtf:

It'd be a fitting way to go out.

Think about the load this dude has had to carry his entire career. Talking literally and metaphorically. Between the meat-log in his pants and the anemic rosters he's been stuck with, is it really a surprise he's having some back issues?

He doesn't use illegal drugs, so he doesn't recovery as quickly as other athletes. He doesn't quit for 2 years to play golf and gamble like other guys, he plays through his injuries.

Everything he does is the brave mans way of doing things, so to make a parody thread about a dudes back injury hinting at the possibility of him not being able to play the game he loves, makes the OP a pretty sad guy.

It's not a bad back, it's what he is now after this time in the league without PEDs. He will be back to better form if he goes on a Miami vacation again.

Is this clown shoe actually CavsFTL? Wow. This is the guy that talks about Wilt and those old guys and athleticism lol. This move is up there with that 60's gif of the guy falling down for no reason. There is no way Cavs understands anything about athleticism except straight line clear to the eye athleticism.

Bran can't handle the loss of athleticism; he's simply not skilled enough.

All the knowledgeable fans called this a long time ago.

He's declining in what's supposed to be his prime.

That's actually a great spin move by CavsFTW...the ball being high up on his shoulder would throw the defender off and allow him to finish the play. If he does a regular spin move and keeps the ball at the regular height, it could be swiped at and possibly lost. No defender is used to such a high basketball IQ on the streets.

GREAT strategy.

Lebron coasted his way to 25-10-5

its clear he wasnt going all out, and he still gave the cavs a chance to win it at the end. we knew there was a chance we would get off to a slow start this season with all the injuries, but im not worried.

lebron and the team as a whole might take a month or two to get going, but as long as they are healthy and in rhythm for the playoffs, its all good. lebron showed last year that he can flick on the switch when need be.

I agree Chips, The Cavs looked good. The Bulls will be a better team with the depth and offensive freedom but this Cavs team is still the team to beat. A few points I noticed.

Andy V and Tristan are CRUCIAL to the post season. That lineup is actually great lineup. Andy can shoot midrange and score while playing defense.

Love and Mozgov are a good fit as they both are good passers and Love is great in the high post.

Lebron actually looked in shape.

Mo Williams has allowed more movement in the office. Mo constantly moves and it even makes Lebron and Love move. You can also see Lebron really trusts Mo because he lets Mo bring the ball up and initate the offense.

Love's play was probably the most interesting part of the night.

Lots has been made by fans and the media about love's involvement in the offense, but blatt has said repeatedly that he doesnt feel pressure to force the ball into love more. he has said its his job to get the team playing well as a whole, not individual players.

and love seemed to back that up last night. he made some great passes when he could have looked to score. it was nice to see he doesnt feel pressure to chase his own stats, and validate his new contract. hes just making plays to help his team win, and his passing was really impressive last night. nice to see the unselfishness from him.

Do we know what sort of back problems Lebron has? Just muscle spasms or herniated/bulging discs? I know that after some dude absolutely rocked me blindside during a game in my lower back a few years ago I have never been the same since. Took me about 6 weeks to recover from the spasms that induced, and since then I've been more prone to recurrent spasms if I move quickly/awkwardly, even if I felt fine before starting. I imagine herniated discs would be an even worse situation.

The last year or two of Bird's career, he couldn't even tie his own sneakers in the locker room. He got by on injections before games and pure adrenaline. LeBron isn't anything remotely close to that at this point.

Errr, no. He was around 205-210 in 1993, and around 208-210 when he returned from baseball. He was about 215 to start the 1996 season.
