Most NBA seasons with one NBA team.

No colluding.

No running.

No cowering.

Walton, Kwame, Smush, Sasha, Cook, Mbenga, etc, etc, etc...stayed.

Tom Brady. Magic. Bird. Russell. Cal Ripken. Barry Sanders. Walter Payton. Jim Brown. Etc. Alpha shit.

"First, Bryant said on 1050 ESPN Radio in New York: "I would like to be traded, yeah. Tough as it is to come to that conclusion there's no other alternative, you know?"

Bryant, interviewed by Stephen A. Smith, was asked if there was anything the Lakers could do to change his mind.

"No," Bryant said. "I just want them to do the right thing.

lets be honest. kobe uses trade demands as a smoke screen to get the owners to make moves

he threatened to leave for chicago or the clippers to get rid of shaq

then he threatened to want a trade and quickly backed off it when they got fisher back and traded for gasol

if a guy truly wants out he'd have left regardless of the lakers decisions in spite of his demands

Where did Bryant want to go in trade?

"Chicago was my No. 1 choice," said Bryant on Sunday, via "Grantland Basketball Hour."

The All-Star guard also confirmed he scuttled a trade the Lakers proposed that would have sent him to the Detroit Pistons.

"That is true," said Bryant, who said the potential deal included Richard "Rip" Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and draft picks.

"I gave you a list of teams I'm comfortable being traded to," recalled Bryant. "Not Detroit."

First of all, props to Kobe. Even though he has been injured the last two seasons, he's what one of 3 players with this kind of longevity? Mamba breaking records just dressing up.

Secondly, Kobe got to play with prime/peak Shaq from his rookie season. He barely had a garbage team for 2 seasons. Even then he threatened to leave. LeBron was drafted by a shit team and played there for his first 7 season. You think LeBron would leave if he got to play with a top 5 GOAT from his rookie season and won 3 rings before he turned 25?

i'm pretty sure kobe was the one saying "no deal if deng is involved"

kobe - "why would i go to chicago and be put in the same position i was already in"

and they had a better situation with kobe being officially traded to detroit. they coulda been great. but kobe said no

he had his no trade claus

its obvious kobe just wanted the lakers to make moves.... the proof is in his current situation... if kobe truly was as much of a backstabbing loser like lebron james. he woulda left after 2013

theres no way kobe finishes his career in LA under these circumstances without a genuine loyalty to this franchise

"The night before the draft, Calipari and Nash had dinner with Bryant's parents, Joe and Pam, at the Radisson in Secaucus, N.J. Kobe's mother and father were thrilled that their son would be playing within commuting distance of their suburban Philly home.

Joe -- who had played in the NBA and in Italy, where Kobe spent part of his youth -- told the Nets' executives he believed Kobe would develop into a starter as a rookie and into an All-Star during his second season. "As we left that dinner," Nash recalled, "Cal told me, 'Wow, Joe really has unrealistic goals for Kobe.' As it turned out, Joe's goals were pretty realistic."

Over lunch on draft day, Calipari and Nash told one of the Nets' seven owners, Joe Taub, that Bryant would be a Net in eight hours. Taub preferred John Wallace, the Syracuse senior, and worried that a high school kid might ultimately leave for a bigger market and a better team in free agency.

Only Bryant wasn't about to wait years for his liberation. He called Calipari after the coach's lunch with Taub, and Bryant's agent, Arn Tellem, called Nash. Prospect and agent declared they wanted no part of Jersey; Tellem even threatened that his client would play in Italy if the Nets ignored their wishes.

Like I said, Kobe wanted the easy way from the beginning.

The franchise became vulnerable to losing Garnett because he could opt out of his contract after the 2007—08 season, and owner Glen Taylor wasn't interested in extending Garnett's deal unless he accepted a cut in his $20 million annual salary.
As it became clear that the Timberwolves might, indeed, part with Garnett, Boston emerged as a possible destination because it had a lottery pick;

The Timberwolves bailed on him and did not want keep him at his salary.
